BlackBerry “In Talks” With Instagram And Netflix

31 January 2013 No Comment

At the BlackBerry Launch Keynote, BlackBerry was proud to announce a list of apps that have been only on Android or iPhone and had committed to BlackBerry 10 apps. Apps such as Angry Birds Star Wars, Skype, Amazon Kindle, The New York Times, Rdio and many many more. One thing I noticed immediately was no one mentioned Instagram or Netflix. I had even tweeted about those two apps specifically not making the list. Looks like others noticed that was well and it looks like he guys from AllThingsD noticed that as well, and decided they were going to get some answers. Here is what they were able to find out.

“A spokesman for BlackBerry says the company is “in talks” with Instagram and Netflix, but could not confirm when those apps will make their way into the store.”

I’m not going to lie these are key apps, and a lot of smart phone users want Instagram and Netflix. So these are core apps that would be great to have on the BlackBerry 10 platform. I expected that Instagram would already be on BlackBerry 10 since BlackBerry and Facebook have very good ties with each other. All I know I have spoke with a quite a few people already who asked me about these two apps, and as silly as it may sound to some of us to others these are key reasons NOT to get another BlackBerry. I personally believe that BlackBerry will at least land Instagram . Netflix I’m not to sure of.  However, I remain very optimistic about this. So what do you all think? Do you think Instagram and Netflix will make it’s way over to BlackBerry 10 devices? And when?
