Currently the supported 2.3 engine for the Android Player sometimes doesn’t cut it for application you’d like to have on BlackBerry 10, or maybe you want to side load an a converted .apk to bar application yourself but it’s not supported by the old school runtime environment.  Announced at BlackBerry Jam, the Android Player for BlackBerry 10 is getting upgraded to 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).  We already see many developers bring their Android applications to BlackBerry, so seeing an enhanced player will definitely be a huge plus in the future roadmap of Android application on the BlackBerry platform.
