We’re a bit late in putting this out, but there’s a time for everything I guess. Switching BlackBerry seems to be a dilemma with many today, and we’d like to make sure you all are properly doing it. Tragic incidents such as resending folks your new PIN is just sad. There’s no need for that. Now we all will hit this task one time or another so after talking to Mac we decided it would be good to write up a guide on how to ! (The easy way) I am going to run 2 guides. 1 guide is for all you Berry lovers who don’t have access to your own PC. The other is for those who do. First up, no access to your own PC. Let’s go!

What we have here is a nice little Casino game for BlackBerry. Not to get so much into all the birds and bees, you get to start off with a nice virtual $1000, play a while and end up a virtual $5000 overdrawn! Don’t worry you can reset the bank at anytime.
What do I think of the game? I really like it, however I found a few things which bugged me. When you press back key you exit the game rather then going back to title menu. After a week of playing the game I still find myself doing this. I’m continuously pushing the back key for every day use on my BlackBerry.

Not so long ago I did an in depth review on SmrtGuard. Given that I loved the app, I decided to try a similar one, smaller and more basic. Everyone’s issue is memory these days. Not everyone, but those who have their BlackBerry smartphones crunched with lots of emails and apps. Memory becomes less of an issue these days with the newer BlackBerry devices out with their extended memory. So BuddyGuard is pretty much a lighter version of SmrtGuard doing some similar taskts.

Do you use Google Sync? If not, here’s an awesome alternative to it. Wifi Sync is a third-party version of Google Sync that allows you to sync over WiFi. Usually, I use Google Sync to keep all my contacts and calendar info backed up and synchronized on Google. I could throw my BlackBerry in the bin and within 5 minutes I will have all my contacts back onto a new phone without having to connect to a PC. How convenient is that? Obviously all you really need is a Google email account and the Google Sync app to use this properly.

Now I’m not an aftermarket theme kind of guy, but if I wanted to use a one it would have to be a simple and responsive theme. One of which would not slow down the running of my BlackBerry which brings us to Oneliner. This is a 5.0 os theme which on the front screen looks like a command prompt. It takes all the items from the application list and shows one at a time on the home screen.

Busy? Forgetful? Or just plain old smart? MessageSchedule will help you. Basically this does what it says on the tin! it is a message schedule application which you can use to sms or email at a time which suites you.
It is great to remind you or others, to use for both business and personal, however in my opinion it has two flaws, small flaws but still flaws. With a email you can not have any attachments added to any scheduled mail and you are only able to select one contact for each message scheduled.
So for some it is a big deal for others just a little glitch, what good is it to send a scheduled message with an attachment to your boss to be sent first thing Monday morning, when if you send it the Friday afternoon it will be waiting for him (or her!) Monday morning anyway!

PodTrapper is a download manager and player for podcasts as you all know. It’s been out for a few months now, and we’re finally giving it a more indepth review as deserved. PodTrapper provides a fully self contained podcast aggregator and player which allows you to subscribe to podcasts right on the BlackBerry, and download new episodes without needing to connect the BlackBerry to a computer. once subscribed to your podcasts it should be automatically downloading new episodes in the background.

A few days ago, Shape Services released IM+ Lite Edition which is a free version with advertisements. Better than dropping 50 bucks if you ask me. Any way, we never gave you our feedback on what we saw on the app so here we go. So as I just mentioned the Lite Edition is ad-based and does not offer IMPush/Stay online and Speech Recognition functionality. This may not big a big deal for some of you just looking to get online.
As you are all probably aware there are a lot of free messenger applications. If you have friends on all sorts of messengers, or under different accounts, like business and pleasure for example. with IM+ lite you can have everyone together.

I enjoy a nice round of chess. When it’s inconvenient to have pieces out on an actual wooden board, why not just play on BlackBerry? Odesys Chess for BlackBerry is definitely one of the best chess experiences I have seen via mobile. One thing which drew me to this game was it has a online multiplayer function. Its nice to go online and lose to another human instead of getting beat by a computer. The graphics are simple yet because of this i think it looks good, no trying to make the queen look like something she is not!
Game Features:
- Online gaming (FICS) client
- Advanced AI engine
- 8 levels of difficulty
- 2-player mode
- Highly intuitive user interface
- Save game on exit
- Deep Undo/Redo
- Sound
- Animated pieces motion.
You have to register online to play rated games, this is easy enough but you can also play as a guest. I also found their was always people online waiting to play you. The animated piece motion is also good as if you like me when you thinking too hard you don’t always remember the last move made. If you like chess this is a game for you. Odesys Chess is available for $4.99.
