Shazam just got cooler.  Before we used to just let Shazam figure out what song is playing and we had the option to purchase the song or just have it saved in a list within the app.  Now Shazam has went through an awesome update allowing you to watch the music video of songs you tag right through YouTube.  Twitter is everywhere, and now it’s in Shazam too.  You can tweet tagged songs to your fellow Twitter friends.  Also, with the store integration, it is easier than ever to purchase music now through Shazam as you can buy it directly through the 7Digital Musc Store.

  • Watch music videos of tagged songs and more via YouTube
  • Tweet tags to your followers
  • Buy music direct from the 7Digital music store.

If you haven’t been prompted for the update, you can manually download it today by using the link below.

This app has pretty much been out for quite some time now, but I haven’t given it a test drive yet.  After seeing it’ll work with my PlayStation 3 ’s built in blu-ray player, I definitely will be playing with it tonight.  Pocket BLU is a free blu-ray player remote control which works right over the WiFi network.  I don’t know of any other blu-ray players that have WiFi capability (I actually haven’t looked into any to be honest) so I’m assuming you’ll need a PS3.  Hit the jump for features of pocket BLU and requirements to use.  Pocket BLU is absolutely free to download from the PocketBerry Store.

There’s plenty of eBook readers to go around for BlackBerry users.  Recently we got the Amazon Kindle application officially launched, and had Shortcovers transform into Kobo.  Now OverDrive has done their part in providing not just an eBook reader, but actually and audiobook application for BlackBerry.  Hit the jump for the full press release or use the link below to download the application today.

Some of you may not be satisfied with your current YouTube fixations via BlackBerry.  Oneweb is an alternative solution to that, which is pretty nice in my opinion.  You’ll be able to search and watch any YouTube video, even those without a mobile version available.  That doesn’t seem to be a problem these days, but some may come across ones which have not been formatted for mobile just yet.  Oneweb is a video player app that makes the video fit your screen and play on your phone while reducing annoying buffering, pending, loading messages. Oneweb-4-YouTube reduces over the air data transfer for fast video playback and can reduce your mobile data charges (if you are not on an unlimited data plan which I hope all of you are).

Features:

  • Streaming video from popular video web sites like Youtube
  • Faster downloads of most web sites
  • Search YouTube videos

Oneweb is absolutely free to download from the PocketBerry Store.  There are alternative Oneweb apps such as the Oneweb Bollywood application which allows you to stream Bollywood films, videos, and clips on your BlackBerry through a nice application interface.  Feel free to check that out also.

As promised, Didiom Pro is finally here.  As we mentioned in early December, Didiom Pro was just announced with no official launch date, but it looks like literally a month later, the app update makes its way to us.  We’re excited to start playing around with it, but thought we’d give you all the heads up on it as soon as we did.  Below are all new changes in Didiom Pro.

  • New features: Wirelessly download your favorite tracks to listen to when you’re offline. Stream your music over Wi-Fi right to your BlackBerry.
  • Increased reliability and stability: We’ve made multiple improvements underneath the hood to enhance your streaming experience.
  • Minimalist redesign: Browse and search your computer’s audio collection with a brand new, intuitive UI.
  • Faster navigation: Enjoy faster access to the music, podcasts and audiobooks on your computer with just one click.
  • Better compatibility: Connect to your iTunes library from widescreen Windows phones (WVGA) and the latest BlackBerry smartphones.
  • More payment options: Use your PayPal account to speed through checkout without having to enter your credit card information.

If you already have Didiom, you can easily upgrade to the Pro version at any time.  The update is free to download for both old and new users so have no worries.

We’re so overwhelmed by the tremendous amounts of Twitter applications available for BlackBerry.  A new one going by the name of Tvider hits the market for free, being more of a multimedia app rather than standard tweeting.  Tvider allows you to send and share videos, pictures, and audio on Twitter within their handy dandy application which I am very fond of so far.

  • Support for all 3 types of media – VIDEO, AUDIO, PICTURE.
  • Tools to instantly generate media using webcam and mobile camera.
  • Option to publish a pre-recorded media tweet from your HDD or mobile SD Card memory.
  • Instant Micro Media Tweeting experience designed by limiting the media length to 60s in case of video and audio.
  • Reply and Re-Tweet the media Tweets in your timeline.

Compatibility: Tour – 9630, Bold – 9000, Curve – 8900, Curve – 8520, Pearl Flip – 8200, 8220, 8230, 8800, 8820,8830, Curve – 8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, Pearl – 8100, 8110, 8120, 8130

Tvider is absolutely free to download, so give it a test run today and let us know how you like it.  Point your BlackBerry Browser to tvider.com/u/mobile or use the link below to get it today.  Special thanks to Richard C. for sending this one in.

Sure there’s plenty of applications out there that will convert videos to work for your BlackBerry.  RealPlayer SP takes it to the next step in full conversion specifically for the BlackBerry with a whole bunch of goodies.  Let’s say you see a YouTube video that you like a lot and woudl very much like to have a copy of it on your BlackBerry.  RealPlayer SP will rip videos off of any flash site including YouTube and convert it to work on your BlackBerry.  There are both premium and free editions of the application, but if you ask me the free one does the job just fine.

7digital Music Store

Awhile back, we told you about 7Digital linking up with RIM to create a music store right on the BlackBerry.  As promised, September is here, and the 7Digital Music Store is now available for free download over on the BlackBerry App World.  The awesome app lets you browse all the latest music charts, preview endless amounts of the latest music out, and best of all, allows you to purchase and download high quality MP3 music right to your BlackBerry.  WiFi is completely compatible as you’ll have faster download speeds when activated.  The application also has its own integrated media player you can use over the native one that comes with your BlackBerry.  It supports headset, speaker, and Bluetooth audio streaming support.  You won’t find this on the top newest apps on the App World as this is a soft release.  Unspokenly it has been put into the BlackBerry App World, but hasn’t been exactly “celebrated” to the public yet.  So what are you waiting for?  Head over to the BlackBerry App World today and pick up your copy.
