Thanks for the hat tip from Victoria who just sent this in. A1 has just released their latest OS for the BlackBerry Storm 9500 ranking it at 5.0.0.425. So far we’re not disappointed with the official OS 5.0 releasing everywhere officially. Leak installs aren’t so essential any more (for some of us it really was). Any way, so this is the official OS 5.0.0.425 released by A! for the BlackBerry Storm 9500.

Some carriers require you to have a device with them in order to get in on all the updates as this Australian carrier is one of those. Here’s the official OS 5.0.0.425 for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. For all those who aren’t even in Australia and want to get in on the official OS, then you can use this RapidShare link to download it. It is an official release but install at your own risk if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Just because the Storm2 is in town, the original older Storm needs some lovin’ and OS updatin’ too. The BlackBerry Storm 9500 got an OS update today, unofficially of course, bringing up to 5.0.0.402. Since it is unofficial, download and install at your own risk. If you do decide to, drop us a line and let us know of any changes you see in this version. Enjoy.

This is OS 5.0.0.328 for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. This is NOT compatible with any other Storm model including the 9530, 9550, or 9520. To all of you out there who just weren’t satisfied with this past weekend’s official OS 5.0 from Verizon, then here’s a leaked OS 5.0.0.287 update for your Storm 9530 as well. There are no release details on this build yet and of course download and install it on your BlackBerry Storm 9530 at your own risk. We got two download links for you below inc ase one of them fails which is highly likely after some time.

As many had suspected that OS 5.0 for the BlackBerryStorm 9530 would release around the same time the Storm 2 would launch, it actually happened. With the Storm 2 just around the corner, Verizon Wireless has introduced OS 5.0.0.238 for the Storm 9530 making plenty of folks finally happy. It’s been almost a year of misery for folks who had the original Storm with OS 4.7 causing freezes, lags, and errors. OS 5.0 has a lot of nice improvements including flawless movement without the “hour glass” or clock coming up any more.
