Rovio started off with just Angry Birds Star Wars edition free on the launch of BlackBerry 10, and later on we even saw the Space edition surface.  Just over the weekend, Rovio has launched both the original Angry Birds and Season editions for BlackBerry 10 officially.  Both new games are available in BlackBerry World for only 99 cents a piece.

This game was a pretty cool one which struck my attention. Only because it looks to be a nice mix up between Brick Breaker and Asteroids. The goal is to destroy all Asteroids trying to come on Earth with the paddle you are given as seen in the bottom of the screenshot. You can play against the CPU and other human players as well. Best part is, it qualifies at a Built for BlackBerry app, so purchase with confidence. Grab it at BlackBerry World for only 99 cents.

I remember as a kid growing up one of the hottest games out was NBA JAM, and I remember waiting in arcades to get my time to play. That was long ago and the world of video games have changed. I’ve remembered a lot of those games I use to play from time to time, and some of them I have wanted to make a comeback especially for mobile devices. Mobile gaming has really changed and improved even over the last couple of years. When I opened BlackBerry World a couple weekends ago I saw NBA Jam, I was very excited. I downloaded NBA Jam right away but I was a little concerned about game play, graphics, and how my Z10 would handle NBA JAM. Those thoughts quickly left after I started playing. (more…)

Do you like carnival games? Do you go to Chuck E Cheese’s just to play games like Skee Ball, and have angry kids kicking your shins because you are hogging the Skee Ball game, which then leads into getting banned from Chuck E Cheese? Well, maybe all of that wouldn’t happen but it could, and now you don’t have to worry about that scenario ever happening. You can now enjoy Skee Ball on your BlackBerry 10 device with Toss Alley. Usually we don’t rant on a regular basis, but every now and then we notice coolness and like to share with everyone else.  One huge complaint on the BlackBerry Q10 is gaming – says who? The aspect ratios just don’t seem to fit very well like the BlackBerry Z10, which of course limits what kind of games can be launched.  After making the switch (maybe temporary depending how this goes) to the BlackBerry Q10 earlier, I noticed that Gameloft had released a version of The Amazing Spiderman for it as well.  We had previously let you know when it was made available for BlackBerry 10 a couple months back, but it was never visited on the Q before. Obviously I had to try it out – especially since I made the purchase on the Z already!

That’s right Angry Birds fans, rejoice because Rovio has brought Angry Birds Space to the BlackBerry 10 platform. Angry Birds Space can be found on both Z10 and Q10 devices so it doesn’t matter which BlackBerry 10 device you go with you can enjoy Angry Birds. Angry Birds Space is the second of the Angry Birds title to make it over to BlackBerry 10. Last week, Cut The Rope for BlackBerry Z10 launched officially for the BlackBerry Z10. Only days later, the game was updated to fix a bug where the application would crash anytime you received an achievement within the game. It was definitely an interesting bug and was pretty discouraging to play your best since that obviously results in the game crashing. Either way, I am pleased to find that this has been fixed and addressed. You can grab the official update at BlackBerry World and purchase it there if you have not picked it up already.

Great news Z10 owners! The hit game Cut the Rope has made its way to the BlackBerry Z10 at last as it appears to be a featured game in BlackBerry World when loading the app store up.  The game is a classic – just as addictive as Angry Birds and has been around for quite a while.  We saw it initially launch last year for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and has finally made its way mobile to BlackBerry 10, but only the Z10 of course due to screen resolutions obviously.  The other great news is that if you purchased this bad boy on the PlayBook already, you can just simply download it on your Z10 without needing to repurchase it.  Some games/apps require a separate purchase even if you already own it on the PlayBook (Plants vs Zombies is a great example).  Hit the link below to grab your copy today for only $1.99.

As promised in previous App Wednesdays, Modern Combat 4 has made its debut to the BlackBerry Z10 yesterday.  We’ve seen Modern Combat 3 release for the PlayBook in the past, so it’s good seeing the next sequels releasing from Gameloft.  Modern Combat 4 includes real rich graphics and awesome action in a war environment.  It’s 99 cents to buy and only on the Z10 right now.  Not sure how well the game would work on the smaller resolution Q10.

Union has made their hit game Samurai II available for the BlackBerry Z10.  This originally launched on the BlackBerry PlayBook, which was a pretty popular game once it kicked off.  Good news – if you already purchased it on the PlayBook, you do not need to re-purchase the game on the Z10 so feel free to download it.  Definitely a huge praise for these kinds of games and apps that were on the PlayBook and owners get to keep it moving forward to other hardware.  For those who are new to Samurai II, check it out for 99 cents at BlackBerry World.
