It looks like just a small update for Navita Translator for BlackBerry PlayBook has arrived today.  It’s a small jump from version 2.6.6 to 2.6.8, so it’s probably bug fixes.  One thing I’ve noticed, is that the application would hang sometimes when clicking the Twitter button.  I’ve been able to reproduce the issue on two other PlayBooks running OS 2.0 as well but it doesn’t always happen.  Any way, if you notice any changes, drop us a line!  Navita Translator is free to download for BlackBerry smartphones and PlayBook.  Click the link below to download from BlackBerry App World.

Blaq for BlackBerry PlayBook received an update today to version 1.7.1.273.  There’s quite a few new features and bug fixes included in this build.  See below for the full change log:

New Features:

• Timeline position is held if new tweets are loaded while scrolled (instead of jumping to top)
• Reduced application size
• Reduced memory footprint
• Big performance improvements
• Improved scrolling
• New splash screen
• E-mail Tweet
• Font appearance preview

Facebook for BlackBerry just received a small bump up from version 3.0.0.9 to 3.0.0.14.  Yes, we get a change log this time, but it seems to be more of bug fixes than it is features.  The main goal of Facebook 3.0 is to integrate with BBM, and of course a few other cool features.  Here’s the change log for this new version:

• When Facebook is installed on a device running a language that is not officially supported by Facebook for BlackBerry, but is supported by BB, the app is supposed to default to English.
• Facebook application uses HTTP links in browser
• The Facebook server has returned an unknown error and is not able to fulfill your request. (1500)
• WiLAN event is not being processed correctly when radio is low or changed
• Unable to close Facebook using back key on 6.0

It looks like Twitter for BlackBerry v3.0 has officially rolled out today.  While it doesn’t seem to be available in App World’s web store, various users (including me) have received this update over the air via App World.  This version is 3.0.0.20, a step up from the one we were using in BlackBerry Beta Zone.  Keep refreshing BlackBerry App World to download or click here for the web link to App World.

BlackBerry Messenger has updated to version 6.2.0.33 in BlackBerry Beta Zone today.  There’s quite a few issues addressed here including missing BBM icons in OS 5 and scrolling issues in OS 6.  See below for the full change log in this version:

• Missing BBM icon on OS 5.0
• Issues scrolling up through older messages on OS 6.0
• Issue selecting all the text by scrolling up/down in the inline display name and personal message fields
• Scrolling quickly in the inline edit view allowed the focus to move out onto your avatar
• Pressing the Enter key while the focus is on your avatar initiated the inline edit view
• In the inline display name or personal message field, smileys were highlighted when added via the “Add Smiley” menu option
• Unable to scroll in certain directions within the inline display name and personal message field
• No “Save” menu option or prompt dialog when the inline display name or personal message field only contains smileys
• No red splat on the BBM icon after deleting a group icon from the Home Screen and receiving a group notification
• Notification view/today view does not show BBM Messages

BlackBerry Bridge received a small update today to version 2.0.0.26.  There does not seem to be a change log included here so it probably associated with bug fixes.  Also, keep in mind that we have seen Bridge updates in the past go hand in hand with BlackBerry PlayBook OS updates so stay tuned on your tablets if a new build is coming forth.  In the meantime, click the link below to download the latest version of BlackBerry Bridge.

Plants vs Zombies for the BlackBerry PlayBook updated today to version 1.3.1307 from 1.3.  It’s a small update and there is no change log, so we assume it’s just some bug fixes.  Head over to BlackBerry App World from your PlayBook to upgrade.  If you find any changes, let us know in the comments!

BlackBerry Messenger has updated once again in BlackBerry Beta Zone today.  This one’s 6.2.0.24, not a huge jump from before but includes fixes and known issues in the change log.  Some of these addressed issues slipped right beyond me as I did not notice them, but here’s what’s included in the release notes:

Fixed Isses

• User is returned to the contact list after sending a voice note via the convenience key if the chat is opened from the Messages application.
• Virtual keyboard does not appear automatically when editing personal message
• When trying to switch chat from switch chat menu within conversation, user information is partially cutoff
• Send picture dialog is displayed as a vertical bar for device font size 14.

A while back we let you know that Loudtalks changed its name to Zello, and available BlackBerry in App World.  Now, it looks like Zello is offering a newer beta version of their app on their website. Version 1.21 can be picked up at zello.com from your BlackBerry browser. The change log includes:

• offline message support
• updated status icons
• improved battery life
• and of course bug fixes

Beta Test Zello v1.21>>

BlackBerry App World updated earlier today in BlackBerry Beta Zone to version 3.1.2.20.  We see several changes in this build, ones most of you would like.  It’s nice to see that NFC is starting to be integrated within applications.  Previously we saw BBM get an update in Beta Zone which added NFC capability.  In the new BlackBerry App World, we see NFC get added as well in the beta.  Here’s the full change log:

• Find an app in “My World” by typing a keyword term
• “Other Devices” filter view in “My World” allows you to filter out apps not available for your device e.g. PlayBook Apps
• Announce downloads to BBM Status
• NFC is now an additional method to share a single app
• A new “Share” channel in the App World Home page allows you to share your app list via NFC
• Various Bug Fixes
