Themes go live in BlackBerry App World for OS 7 devices

So RIM does not exactly have the BlackBerry Theme Builder updated for OS 7 just yet. Instead, they are encouraging the unofficial hack for Theme Studio which theme builders have been using for a few months now to get themes running on OS 7 devices. You can see a whole section now available in BlackBerry App World. Some are familiar as we’ve let you know on their releases in the past. The P’9981 theme even got approved!

Free Basic OS 7 Series Themes for BlackBerry 7 devices!

The folks over at BB-Freaks released a few free themes of BlackBerry 7 smartphones. Compatible devices include the BlackBerry Curve 9350/9360, Bold 9900/9930, and Torch 9810/9850/9860. Of course these themes are called “Basic OS 7 Series” so they are fairly basic and good for those who want a slight face lift to the over all user interface.

BlackBerry 7 theme details to be announced this month

BlackBerry 7 users have been left out of themes since launch. Apparently there were issues building themes and releasing an appropriate theme builder for the operating system. Shortly folks found a way around it and have released a few themes for OS 7 devices. RIM stated on Twitter yesterday that they will be making announcements this month on themes for BlackBerry 7 devices. We’re coming along towards the end of the month now, so we should be seeing announcements made anytime soon.

Talke Theme by BGT free for limited time

BerryGoodThemes (BGT) is offering one of their latest themes called Talke for free in BlackBerry App World for the next two weeks. The description reads that you must leave a review to keep the theme free. Any way, as you can see, the theme has everything customized included the fonts, icons, and colors. No OS 7 support here unfortunately but there’s plenty of OS 5 and 6 users out there still. Grab the theme while it’s still free!

Free Cosmos Theme by Magmic works on BlackBerry 7 devices

Magmic has done it again and launched another theme compatible with BlackBerry 7 smartphones. If you feel left out in the theme department, check this new one out. Cosmos is a outer space style theme with home screen icons offered diagonally and all your notifications on the left side of the screen. Might not be the exact theme you’re looking for but it’s still a nice face lift for your BlackBerry. Check it out and download it for free at BlackBerry App World.

BlackBerry Porsche P’9981 Theme for Torch 9850/9860 & Bold 9900/9930- Supported on OS 7 and 7.1!

One complaint from the last BlackBerry Porsche P’9981 theme leak was that OS 7.1 was not supported. The latest download supports it according to OSBB. Also, the theme is now available for the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and 9860. The cool thing about this theme is that the media player has been skinned too. This is something we’re not used to seeing in themes, but did for the first time with the Porsche theme. Anyone with a Torch, try it out and let us know how it works!

Free Carrera Theme by BGT inspired by Porsche P’9981 Theme

So here it is. The BlackBerry Porsche P’9981 comes with a customized Porsche Design theme by default. Of course themes aren’t officially available for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930, but some devs have made magic happen. Bplay launches 5 themes for BlackBerry 7 devices!

Bplay started off with a loophole around making BlackBerry 7 themes and launched Deck The Halls as their first supported theme for the OS. Now it looks like there’s 5 themes in total which support BlackBerry 7 OS. The themes supported include Deck The Halls, iBerry 2.0 Zen, Tinker Bell, iBerry Edge Zen, and Cosmos. Deck The Halls Theme by Magmic works on BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930

Deck The Halls is a theme created by the folks over at Magmic. It of course is inspired by the holiday season as seen in the screenshots. Along with this theme release, we were told it works with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930. The theme builder for OS 7 is still not out yet, but Magmic guys have worked their magic somehow to release this theme. It’s $2.99 to buy from Bplay.
