With BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, you can take better advantage of the BlackBerry Bridge feature, which is used to connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your PlayBook.  In OS 2.0, we can use our smartphones as a remote control for the PlayBook.  As seen in this awesome promo clip, you can connect the BlackBerry PlayBook to your television and then control it while relaxing on your couch with your BlackBerry smartphone.

Click here to view videoThe BlackBerry Bold 9790 has officially launched in Hong Kong on February 24th.  RIM put up a highlight video showing the launch of the new device with the crowds around waiting to get a hold of it.  On the displays we see the device propped up next to a BlackBerry PlayBook, which of course is the best sidekick to your BlackBerry smartphone.

One of the new features rolled out in BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is the native Video Store.  In the Video Store, we are able to buy or rent movied and television shows on the fly. Forget having to sync your PlayBook to your computer for videos when you can get it all over the air. Keep in mind, WiFi is required. The stote is powered by Rovi, so you’ll unfortunately need to create another user ID.  Would be nice to have it all just tie down to your BlackBerry ID, but that obviously is not the case.

Ever since BlackBerry DevCon 2011, RIM has been pushing out this all new BlackBerry Jam.  BlackBerry Jam has become a portal for developers which includes a community as well to link up discuss app building, attend events, and more.  Here’s a cool promo clip from RIM detailing some features of BlackBerry Jam.

For those who missed out on the BlackBerry DevCon Europe 2012 keynote yesterday, you can watch the whole thing online as RIM provides a streaming player on the BlackBerry DevCon site to do so.  The keynote includes various demos including the “Open On” feature where you can use your BlackBerry smartphone as a remote for your BlackBerry PlayBook.  Also check out keynote speeches by the new CEO of RIM Thorsten Heins and Director of Developer Relations Alec Saunders.

RIM has quite a few new BlackBerry 7 commercials out.  One featuring the famous Martinez Brothers.  For those who aren’t familiar The Martinez Brothers, they’re popular DJs in North America.  Then there’s Jon Hansburg which is titled in the video as a “food buyer for celebrity chefs.”  Click the links below to check out the BlackBerry 7 commercials.

Last month we attended the BBM Ugly Sweater Fan Night which featured BlackBerry enthusiast, developers and bloggers gathered together in ugly Christmas sweaters for drinks, food and BlackBerry devices all over the place.  Former New York Giants football player Michael Strahan came as promised and demoed out Madden 12 for the BlackBerry PlayBook.  Here’s a quick video recap of the event showing some highlights of the fun night!

At CES 2012, Zinio made its presence and had a little surprise for some of us who have been waiting to see if the company had anything in store for us Berry users or not.  It looks like they have developed their Zinio magazine reader application for the BlackBerry PlayBook and even gave a little sneak peek of the application as well.  According to RIM, once the app becomes available in App World you can download it and receive $25 credit for the Zinio store to purchase your magazine and other reading content.  Check out the video above for the teaser.
