I know the BlackBerry Pearl series isn’t as popular as it was back in the day when the 8100 was first announced.  But I seriously have not seen anyone walk around with a BlackBerry Pearl 3G since it arrived here in the US for AT&T.  I know it’s available in Canada and overseas as well, but it doesn’t seem to be popular at all.

We’ve got all sorts of BlackBerry smartphones out now that rock full QWERTY keyboards and larger displays, so does the Pearl still appeal at all?  I’m really curious how many of you out there are actually using them at the moment.  So cast your votes please and let us know!

What a coincidence! We just rolled out our BlackBerry Pearl 3G review today with 6.0 on it, and now we see a later version leak out.  This is OS 6.0.0.418 for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 and 9105.  As you may have noticed, it’s the same version as we’ve seen today for both the Bold 9700 and Curve 3G 9300.  If you currently have a Pearl 3G at hand, check out this build as I’m sure it’ll be a lot smoother that the last 6.0 with all its memory leaks.

The BlackBerry Pearl family has been missing in action for a few years now, and the latest before the Pearl 3G was the Pearl Flip 8200 series which did not fly so well.  A lot of the hate towards it was a combination of it being a flip phone device and having SureType. Now we have a BlackBerry Pearl 3G with SureType still, and many former Pearl users did move on to QWERTY where the move back would be quite difficult.  With all that said, would BlackBerry 6 OS on it higher your interest in the device?  Cast your votes!

It’s been awhile since we had any leakage on the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, so here’s a leaked OS – no it’s not BlackBerry 6 yet.  Bla1ze over at CrackBerry got hold of OS 5.0.0.921 late last night which works for both the 9100 and 9105 model.  Download and install at your own risk of course.  Speaking of the Pearl 3G, we’re excited that a big US carrier is finally launching it too so these leaks will mean more to some of you then once the device hits the streets here.

So it has been officially announced that AT&T will be carrying the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 at last.  The device was originally announced at WES 2010, and sadly took all the way through DEVCON 2010 for it to be officially announced for a common US carrier.  So drop us a line in the comments, tweet us, or cast your vote in the poll above!

We were expecting this one soon and it finally looks like the time is now.  AT&T has officially announced the BlackBerry Pearl 3G and BlackBerry Curve 3G today.  As far as pricing goes, the BlackBerry Curve 3G will be $99.99 with no rebates required.  The BlackBerry Pearl 3G will be going for $149.99 with no rebate required as well.  For starting prices these are both cheap, but we didn’t expect it to go any higher when the elite BlackBerry Torch 9800 goes for $199.99.

Just a quick reminder as we weren’t clear about it this weekend, the AT&T BlackBerry Curve 9300 will be rolling out on October 3rd along with the BlackBerry Pearl 3G.  That was the rumor, and the flyers indicate the rumor to be true, so we’ll be sticking by it for now.  Both are BlackBerry 6 compatible, and cheap in price.  Which will you go for?

Well we saw spare part bezels for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G branded “AT&T” but it was questionable as to whether or not it was OEM.  Here we see some proof surface from Engadget showing that the BlackBerry Pearl 3G is finally coming.  We got to see this device first hand at WES 2010 and we’re just so surprised AT&T took this long to release it.  It has also been rumored that the BlackBerry Curve 3G for AT&T will also be launching the same day.

Back to the Pearl, we assume it’s going to be the 9100 SureType edition as the “T9″ has been marketed more towards Europe as we had guessed to begin with.  T9 is pretty much dead in the US but a lot of those LG and Nokia users abroad are still stuck on it, so this Pearl 9105 does cater well to it, while the 9100 satisfies our itch.

According to a post on Howard Forums, Wind Mobile is launching the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 for $320 with no contract.  Unfortunately there is no launch date or coming soon ads on their site yet but I’m sure there will be a sign up page to be notified when it’s available in the near future.

It doesn’t say specifically Bell is expected to launch BlackBerry 6 OS  in 2011, but that’s all we get for now.  Guesses anyone?  So Bell has this internal notice that got leaked from MobileSyrup showing three devices which will be getting BlackBerry 6 OS in 2011.  Those devices are the Bold 9700, Pearl 3G (91xx), and Curve 3G (93xx).  Again there’s no estimated time during 2011, but we do know the Torch 9800 is coming soon to Bell and that is of course locked and loaded with BlackBerry 6 OS right out of the box.
