If you recall, Boost Mobile launched the BlackBerry Style 9670 a few months back.  The device was short-lived, as it didn’t sell as well as expected.  Still you could get the device at many stores, so there wasn’t much of a shortage when Boost told dealers they would be cutting back on the device.  We just got word from a Boost Mobile corporate store that Boost has nailed a deal to get more BlackBerry Style devices to sell to its stores again.  Policies are a bit different this time.  Device returns are not permitted if the customer does not like the device.  According to the tipster, there has to be a malfunction of some sort to get an exchanged device or return in general.

The BlackBerry Curve 9330 and BlackBerry Style 9670 both got the same OS update yesterday from Sprint.  It’s been a while since we saw any update for the Style 9670, so it’s definitely a relief for those still on the device.  The Curve 9330 is also still getting updates and there’s definitely a bunch out there in people’s possessions too.  If you go ahead and download this OS, let us know of any changes you notice.

A tipster from Boost Mobile let us know that the company has decided to get rid of the BlackBerry Style 9670, already.  With that said, it’s obvious that the device is not doing well at all.  Sprint did away with it at first then later passed it along to their prepaid division Boost which obviously did poorly.

As of now, retail locations are still carrying the device and it seems to be available online still.  Perhaps we’ll see them get rid of whatever stock is around and that’ll be the end of it.

Sprint is doing away with the BlackBerry Bold 9650, Style 9670 and Curve 3G.  So what’s to replace them now? It looks like the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will replace the Bold 9650, Curve 9350 to replace the Curve 3G 9330, and Torch 9850 to replace the Style 9670.

We’re a little late in mentioning, but previously we let you know about Boost Mobile expected to launch the BlackBerry Style 9670 on July 20th.  As expected, the date was correct and the device has been available for purchase as early as yesterday.  Boost Mobile is offering the style for a cheap premium of only $199.99, which is great for a no commitment device (running OS 6 as well).

Just as we let you know last week, Boost Mobile BlackBerry Style 9670 is coming soon.  The date we were told was July 20th, while the website suggests just as “coming soon.”  There was some confusion online about pricing of the device but as we also let you know, it’s marked as $199.99 to buy.

It looks like OS 6.0.0.600 is really going around to all “in this season” BlackBerry devices.  It started off as a leak, but surprisingly carriers all over the world picked it up.  The biggest shocker was AT&T picking it up for the Torch 9800 since they’re always behind in that as a carrier.  Now we’re seeing the OS launch for the forgotten BlackBerry Style 9670 and the BlackBerry Curve 9330.  Both these OS builds come from GCI.

Yesterday the news broke out that the BlackBerry Style 9670 is coming to Boost Mobile, but we haven’t heard any official announcement just yet.  It’s a huge deal for the device to enter the prepaid market as prepaid carriers are always known to carry lower end devices, BlackBerry or not.  At the moment Boost Mobile carries the BlackBerry Curve 8520, ideal for anyone entering the BlackBerry world for the first time, but not appealing to those already in the game.

We got word that Boost Mobile stores can start preordering their Style 9670 devices from their Boost suppliers for a July 20th launch date.  There’s no word on when they will ship out but the retail price is still firm at $199.99.

The long forgotten BlackBerry Style 9670 is headed over to Boost Mobile, Sprint’s prepaid carrier this summer.  We got confirmation from some Boost Mobile reps that it’s coming soon this month on July 20th.  Boost Mobile stores can start placing their orders through their Boost reps from now.  They will be going for $199.99 retail, with no comment on what store costs are.  The BlackBerry Style is a great edition to Boost Mobile since their latest and greatest at the moment is the BlackBerry Curve 8520.  The carrier has been due for a new phone for quite a while, especially one with OS 6 and here it is.
