BeWeather, formerly known as BerryWeather has grown to be one of the most popular BlackBerry smartphone applications.  Luis over at BerryReview spotted that Bellshare has launched BeWeather for the BlackBerry PlayBook now.  There doesn’t seem to be much in the description other than the fact that there may be some bugs 2.0.0.7971 with animations.

 BeWeather for BlackBerry is currently being offered free for OS 7 devices as a courtesy from RIM.  Most of you who have the app now may have realized that auto update has been a little off.  For me, I have BeWeather set as my wallpaper to show me the weather for the whole week.  I’ve been noticing that everyday I see a loading screen on my background as BeWeather seems to be fetching new weather updates, but nothing seems to come until I open the application physically and refresh it.

Today BeWeather has updated to version 2.6.17, hopefully addressing that issue as the change log suggests “fixed background auto update”.  So I’ll be paying close attention to the auto updating today in best hopes that the exception has been resolved.  Click the link below to download or update BeWeather for BlackBerry smartphones.

BeBuzz for BlackBerry updated to version 5.0.22 today.  Included in the update is a bunch of bug fixes as the change log shows.  For those who don’t know what BeBuzz is, it’s an app that allows you to customize alerts for contacts by changing the LED color and more.  Here’s the full change log of this release:

• BBM chat history is not being deleted anymore
• BeBuzz support now works whether BBM chat is set to device or memory card
• Extended complimentary Text-to-Speech until January 31, 2012
• Added support for browsing for ringtones (pre-installed ringtones cannot be used)
• Automatically reverting to legacy BBM when there is no BBM contact and no toast/TTS for BBM
• Added warning in setup wizard that BBM chat history has to be on

Yesterday we saw Bellshare update BerryWeather with OS 7 support, and next up came BerryReader with the same.  Now BerryReader is supported on OS 7 devices, for those fortunate enough to have OS 7 devices in your region.  A few other changes and additions have been added as well.  Here’s the full change log:

BerryWeather for BlackBerry hasn’t had an update in quite a while.  It remains to be one of the more popular weather apps for BlackBerry, even with its higher price tag than the others.  Last night it updated to version 2.6.12 adding some nice features and some we expected.  OS 7 has launched officially on devices including the Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 so far.  With that said, users need apps and this update supports OS 7 users.  BBM 6 integration was also added, which I expected Bellshare to hop on that wagon too.  Here’s the full change log:

• Adjusted day/night background images for higher resolution screens on OS 7.0
• Added native sendmenu for sharing weather on OS 7.0 (Facebook, Twitter, BBM etc)

BerryPopup is an application, but more of a message preview utility for your BlackBerry.  When receiving messages on your phone including SMS and email, you’re able to preview them as soon as they arrive rather than going to the folder and opening it up from there.  So no matter what application you’re in, you’ll see BerryPopup show you the previewed messages.  The cooler part is that you can reply forward, mark as read, or delete right from the preview window as well.  Why bother previewing it and then opening it later delete when you can right on the spot?
