We already know that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is heading to T-Mobile as it was officially announced back at BlackBerry World 2011. Then there’s the BlackBerry Monza, which we got an exclusive tip that it was mentioned at a “See BlackBerry Different” event a while back. The BlackBerry Apollo has been left in the dark a bit, but it looks like all that is surfacing now. Here are the dates:
- August 17th – BlackBerry Bold 9900
- July 27th – BlackBerry Monza
- August 31st – BlackBerry Apollo

Device Images & Info »

Yesterday, details emerged for the BlackBerry Curve, codename Apollo. In the specs, the Apollo was said to have a camera flash along with the 5MP camera. Today, BGR shows some more images of the devices showing the backside which only displays a camera, with no flash visible at all.
So the Curve did get some upped specs here but no camera flash as the rumored specs said. Not a big deal, I know. Just a camera flash but it should have one. Boo.

So we’ve had a lot of nice leakage over the last two days, device leaks to be exact. The new BlackBerry devices we saw leaked are the BlackBerry Torch 2, BlackBerry Curve (Apollo), BlackBerry Bold (Dakota), and BlackBerry Storm 3 (Monaco). So which one are you excited for? Drop us a line in the comments, tweet us, or if your browsing via PC/Mac (or webkit browser), cast your vote in the poll above!
Miscellaneous Thoughts »

The Curve has become a very introductory device when it comes to BlackBerry. If you already owned one in the past and “upgraded” to Curve, you’d see that a lot was lacking.
Since the BlackBerry Curve 8500 series launched, a camera flash has been vacant. In previous Curve models such as the 8300 and 8900 series, camera flashes were readily available. Then the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 series launched in the same form factor as the 8500 series lacking a camera flash once again. From today’s leaked image and specs of the BlackBerry Apollo, which is the next generation Curve, it seems to not lack as much as we thought it would.

The other leaked image of the day goes out to the BlackBerry Apollo which is the next generation Curve. Something cool I noticed in the specs is that it rocks a 800MHz processor rather than a 624. We’re still not up to speed where we want to be but RIM is taking baby steps in the right direction here. Below are the full specs:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- Tri-band UMTS/HSPA 7.2Mbps
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Wi-Fi b/g/n
- GPS
- NFC
- 512MB of eMMC, 512MB of RAM
- 5-megapixel camera with flash
- HVGA 480 x 360 display
- 1050 mAh battery
- Tavor MG-1 800MHz CPU
- BlackBerry OS 6.1
- 11mm thin
So it ships out with BlackBerry OS 6.1 just as the Dakota does. I wonder when we’ll be seeing official announcements on these. Perhaps after a few more leaked images and videos
