Along with Themes section going live for BlackBerry 7 smartphone users, it looks like RIM has added a Ringtones section as well for everyone. Yes you guessed it, it will be packed with ringtones you can purchase and download. Does anyone buy ringtones anymore?

BlackBerry App World has a small update out today. Some of you may have received the notification to download while others it might take a bit. Again this is a small update for bugs users were experiencing when reinstalling an app. It’s a bit generic of a statement but it might be for users who did not have the reinstall option for some apps. I’ve seen it first hand myself, maybe some of you have. Any way, keep an eye out open for the update and let us know if it resolves any of your issues.

Just like we’ve seen with Verizon and AT&T, T-Mobile has joined the club and pushed itself its own category in BlackBerry App World for its customers. This wasn’t overnight and apparently has been out for a few weeks now. Most of the applications on the list are generic as many users have access to them. Mobile Security is an app T-Mobile partnered up with Asurion for and that’s on the list as well. Other apps include Flixster, OpenTable, Aces Jewel Hunt and more! There doesn’t seem to be a category set on Sprint yet, but we’ll see if that happens.

BlackBerry App World has officially updated last night to version 3.1.0.56. For a few weeks we’ve been beta testing v3.1 from BlackBerry Beta Zone. The official didn’t take long to release which is great for those who were long waiting. Be patient in waiting for the download to prompt in App World or head over to the BlackBerry App World mobile site to download.

Fandango for BlackBerry has been out for years, but it was never included in BlackBerry App World. Some users downloaded through a link spotted on the home screen (thank you AT&T) while others just went to the mobile website from their Berrys and downloaded it over the air. Now you can download directly from BlackBerry App World- this way you’ll be able to have the latest update and know when a new version is released.
On a side note, the application also was updated to version 2.1.3 earlier this month (December 2nd to be exact). There doesn’t seem to be a change log but the big news is that BlackBerry App World now carries the app! Woohoo!

That’s what it looks like. Earlier today I was navigating in BlackBerry App World and noticed Verizon had its own section on right on the start page. Included was hand selected apps from Verizon and others specifically for Verizon BlackBerry smartphones. I’m curious to see if anyone else is seeing this for their App World for another carrier. I’ve checked T-Mobile and Sprint BlackBerry devices and haven’t found anything yet but if you do, let us know!

BlackBerry App World just got updated in BlackBerry Beta Zone today once again. Last time around we saw version 3.1 which added WiFi support and app gifting/begging. We didn’t snag a change log for this one but hopefully there’s some fixes for issues users were encountering before. If you spot anything let us know!
