Ok so you’re not exactly ready to go beta with yesterday’s OS 7.1 leak for the BlackBerry Bold 9790. Perhaps you want a stable official operating system. Orange UK released OS 7.0.0.611 for the BlackBerry Bold 9790 yesterday, so you can download that alternatively if you want the latest and greatest.

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 finally received some OS 7.1 love last night. This one’s 7.1.0.247, a newer OS than seen on other BlackBerry 7 smartphones. There doesn’t seem to be any official features available in this version but let us know what you spot! Download mirrors below..

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the launch of the new BlackBerry® Bold™ 9790 and BlackBerry® Curve™ 9380 smartphones in Vietnam. Powered by the BlackBerry® 7 operating system (OS), the new smartphones both support Vietnamese input methods and a Vietnamese user interface (UI). The two smartphones will be available from authorised resellers through Brightstar Corp. and come with an 18-month warranty with support from local after-sales service centers. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is expected to be available January 15 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380 is expected to be available in February. RIM has anounced five new BlackBerry 7 smartphones in Philippines this week. Those devices are the BlackBerry Bold 9790, Curve 9380, Torch 9810, Torch 9860, and the white Bold 9900. Devices will be available today in stores of the region. Below is the full press release from RIM.
