So maybe that weird looking BlackBerry Bold 9980 is legit. It looks like that’s what the Porsche design BlackBerry is going to be (but you never kn0w). RIM is set to unveil the new device at an event in Dubai on October 27th. It’s by invite only and the folks over at BBin were able to snag the invite flyer for it. I’m starting to think this BlackBerry is “legit” to a certain extent. I mean the device design is just too much to bare, but it clearly is running BlackBerry OS. I just don’t understand it at all like many of you out there. Now we’re seeing the BlackBerry Bold 9980 side by side with the Bold 9900 from T-Mobile. If you’re familiar with the new Bold 9900, then you’ll understand the dimensions of this very hideous Bold 9980.
It might just be like the Style 9670 when it launched where many hated it, but gained some likeage after seeing the device in person. Hit the jump for more photos of the couple.

The mysterious BlackBerry Bold 9980 made its mysterious appearance in a bunch of photos then later on with a full hands on video. Now we’re seeing stock images of the device, but there’s no telling if they’re legitimate leaked ones or just leaked out. The description translated at BerryCN mentions “design concept” but we all know how translations get misunderstood. One more pic after the jump!

Last week we let you know about the BlackBerry Bold 9980 images that came out. Along with that erupted all sorts of confusion since this device is nothing like we’ve ever seen come from RIM before. Nothing about it makes sense, but it has a lot of characteristics that the Bold 9900 has including the volume keys with the mute button in between, charging contacts on the bottom for a dock, and the lock/standby button up top. It seems to be running OS 7 with touchscreen capability and China Mobile seems to be the running carrier on it. The folks over at BerryCN have posted up a video showing the full hands on of the device. Full video after the jump!
