The BlackBerry Bold 9900 launch has just become way too confusing.  There were rumors floating around about a launch delay, and then it was confirmed in the RIM earnings call today.  Now we’re seeing Three UK confirming the BlackBerry Bold 9900 coming soon in August.  Of course Canadian releases don’t have to match the United States, but when we here there’s a delay we expect it across the board. For now this is all we have and we have yet to see a carrier come out and change their launch date for the Bold 9900.

It’s no secret that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is getting a single core 1.2GHz processor and of course is impressive with those speeds as it is.  It would be nice if it were a dual core, but let’s not get so picky now as this single core 1.2GHz is a huge jump for RIM as is.  So Vodafone has their advertisement up for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 showing that it’s 1.2GHz dual core, when in reality it isn’t.  Typos like that might be throwing people off, so keep in mind that it is single core, but is a very rapid device.  Refer back to our video overview of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 from BlackBerry World 2011.

It was really nice to see T-Mobile announce the BlackBerry Bold 9900 coming soon but we really wanted to see it expanded to other carriers as well.  We just got the word that Vodafone UK is picking up the Bold 9900 with a “coming soon” launch date.

As you know by now we’re live at BlackBerry World, and we just got our first hands on with the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930.  It looks like the models on the floor were all 9930′s but I didn’t see each and every single one.  The 9900 is the GSM model, while the 9930 remains to be CDMA.  The BlackBerry Bold 9900 series gives full QWERTY with touchscreen capability, a powerful 1.2GHz processor, and form factor similar to the older Bold 9000, which has been craved for quite sometime now.  Hit the jump to view our gallery of photos.

Just as expected, RIM unveiled the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930.  The Bold 9900 series comes as the same Bold form factor you all know, but gets a touchscreen on top.  The BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 is the thinnnest BlackBerry on the market giving you a full physical QWERTY keyboard along with the touchscreen as mentioned before.  It’s the first BlackBerry smartphone to run BlackBerry 7 OS, formerly known OS 6.1.  It comes with a 1.2GHz processor, providing speed we’re already starting to get acquainted with thanks to the BlackBerry PlayBook.  Hit the jump for the full press release from RIM.

The BlackBerry Bold Touch made its way to the BlackBerry main site today by accident.  Who knows how that happened, but the folks over at CrackBerry got a screenshot of it displayed.  We’re days away from BlackBerry World and we’re excited to see RIM officially announce the device.  In best hopes we get a real hands on with it, rather than at DEVCON 2010 where we only drooled at a PlayBook behind glass.

Rumors keep circulating for BlackBerry World and what devices RIM has to announce during the event.  At one point in time we had the idea that several devices would surface including the BlackBerry Touch (Monza/Monaco), Bold Touch, and Curve Touch.  The latest rumor from BGR says that there has been some last minute changes and RIM is going to announce the BlackBerry Bold Touch only at the event, which is quite disappointing.  Don’t get me wrong, the Bold Touch is a great device we all look forward to seeing, but it was definitely more exciting to see a whole new product line launch with the three devices.

The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 has been roaming around the web in leaked images for a few weeks now.  We’ve seen the Bold Touch, Torch 2, and Touch (Monaco).  Next month at BlackBerry World in Orlando, we’re expecting to see RIM announcing these devices.  Any way, The BlackBerry Bold Touch got some more leaked images over the weekend.  In these we see it side by side with other devices.  Hit the jump to check them all out.

This is the type of clip I would have expected to see at BlackBerry World perhaps, but it looks like that’s been spoiled, thanks to the leak!  Here’s the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 giving you full touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a form factor close to the BlackBerry Bold 9000.  Watch the clip after the jump!

We got to see the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930 in live action this weekend for roughly 20 seconds.  We had seen images before, but never really saw an actual hands on video in the past.  Based on what we saw in the comments, some were disappointed that the screen was still too small to have a touchscreen.  Icons remain to be the same and don’t seem “touch friendly.”  For example, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 clearly has larger icons, formatted better for touch around and swipe.  The Bold Touch gets a smaller screen, and the icons are the same proportion they were before on the non touch Bold.  Will this make it harder to select items and things of that nature?
