We’re starting to see the BlackBerry Curve 8520 appear on display showcases now, rather than just back shelves until the release date. A few days ago, the devices were stocked up silently in the back of AT&T retail stores. Now the device is being displayed out with the rest of the Berry family so open and publicly. The folks over at CrackBerry spotted that the 8520 is also available on the AT&T website as well which starts to ring up some baffling questions. So any way, the device has quite a great launch as you won’t have to wait for prices to go down! That’s right, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 is being offered for FREE after a mail-in rebate. So the up front costs? Dish out $100 to the sales rep at AT&T and you will be handed a mail-in rebate form. We asked the reps if any of the 15 devices came in different colors, but it looks like black is the color of the moment for now.

T-Mobile and Verizon have already been rockin’ the 85xx series BlackBerry Curve for quite sometime. Verizon followed T-Mobile in releasing the 8530, which seemed to be a souped of version of the 8520 as it had WiFi, GPS, and 3G. AT&T has joined the team not too long ago announcing the device. Now it looks like all AT&T retail store locations are starting to get them on their back shelves. We asked three of our AT&T store connects and pretty much every retail location will be getting between 8-15 pieces for the launch date. Of course larger stores do not apply to this rounded up assumption. The AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8520 will share similar specs to the T-Mobile version, as it won’t be as rock solid as the Verizon 8530 is.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 has been spread out across the world becoming the fastest moving BlackBerry between all the carriers across the world. As we all know, the device’s purpose of creation was to be an affordable and basic BlackBerry unit in order to become a norm for everybody. The tactic definitely worked as many consumers purchased the device as their first BlackBerry or even upgraded to it from an earlier generation unit. As the rest of the world’s carriers got their hands on the device, we were shocked to see that Rogers took quite a long time to do so.

I know, everyone is more excited over the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the new Storm 9550 and 9520 releasing by the end of the year, but we have seen many images of them in every single angle. The white BlackBerry Bold 9000 is what we were missing out on as we had some leakage of it in white, but did not see it in full as it displayed in the image. As you can see in the picture we have the white Bold 9000 standing tall next to the Bold 9700 which is expected to release by November 11th via T-Mobile, but there is no telling about it yet. And lastly, it looks like an older prototype of the 85xx series as it has a trackball still.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is working out so far just as RIM planned it. It is a lower end BlackBerry device (to some extent) being marked down at a cheaper price to get everyone into the BlackBerry vibe. Orange and RIM have announced today that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be releasing in Spain officially. We have the full press release attached with a recap on the specs of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 as well. Continue reading to get the full scoop.

Plazmic 4.7 finally got an update patch enabling the creation of BlackBerry Tour 9630 and BlackBerry Curve 8520 themes. The 8520 users did not have to wait as long as the poor Verizon customers using the Tour did, but it was definitely a good thing they both released together in one patch. Prepare for a whole new generation of themes for these new devices.
