A few weeks ago we let you know about the BlackBerry Bold 9900 getting Mobile Mastercard approval. Now it looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9360 has joined in the approval as well. According to the press release, both these devices are the world’s first SIM-based smartphones to get MasterCard PayPass Handset Certification. Pretty neat. Below is the full press release from MasterCard.

When going t0 T-Mobile.com, it still shows as “coming soon” for the merlot colored edition. I’m not sure if that will be removed off the site completely or maybe the color will come back soon enough. Anyone hurt by the tragic news?

Fido is usually known for picking up BlackBerry devices way later after launch. For instance, when everyone was walking around with the brank spankin’ new BlackBerry Bold 9000, you saw Fido “unveil” the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. Then later when the Curve 8520 was reaching its end of life, Fido picked it up in the device line up.
Now it looks like Fido stores are getting BlackBerry Curve 9360 cases in (OtterBox brand), but we still haven’t heard an official announcement of the device just yet, but it was spotted in some inventory screenshots some time ago. With that said, I think it’s safe to assume that the Curve 9360 should be hitting Fido shelves soon.
Pricing doesn’t seem to be available yet and a launch date is still vacant.

Yesterday T-Mobile officially released the BlackBerry Curve 9360, which appeared to be sold out online quite quick in the first day. For those who couldn’t get it online and still want to order it, we have it available at the PocketBerry Phone Store for as low as $29.99 with a new contract. If you want to upgrade, it’s $79.99 outright with no mail-in rebate required. T-Mobile stores offer it for the $79 rate, but that’s only after a $50 mail-in rebate. You get the idea. The BlackBerry Curve 9360 launched officially for T-Mobile yesterday in all its retail stores and now India has picked up the device as RIM held a promo event for it there. As a quick recap on specs, the Curve 9360 gets a 800MHz processor, 480 x 360 screen resolution, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 5MP camera with flash, and a super thin profile (thinner than the Bold 9900). It also comes with OS 7 preloaded on there so it definitely takes entry level a lot higher than it used to be.

Back in August, we let you know that Telus was launching the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in white and pink. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Telus has the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in pink available and $25 from each device purchased will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This isn’t the first time we see Telus launch a program like this, as we’ve seen it with other generations of the Curve and the Pearl.

T-Mobile already officially announced the BlackBerry Curve 9360 this week and business users can already start purchasing them online. It will be available for sale in all T-Mobile retail locations beginning September 28th. We got a screenshot from our T-Mobile tipster showing that stores are already beginning to receive inventory of the device. Nothing ground breaking here, but maybe some store reps will have live demo units to play with before launch?
The packaging seems to be similar dimensions as the BlackBerry Torch 9800/9810 and Pearl 9100.
