bell blackberry curve 9380

The BlackBerry Curve 9380 is already heading to carriers, starting with Bell which has internally noted they are launching it on November 28th.  The Curve 9380 is the first all touchscreen device in the Curve family offering lower end specs than what we currently have, sort of.  It gets an 800MHz processor, OS 7, 480 x 360 screen resolution, and NFC capability which devices such as the Torch lack. There’s no pricing details just yet.  RIM officially announced the Curve 9380 yesterday, so it’s just about right to see carriers announce carrying it anytime now.

Along with the official announcement of the BlackBerry Bold 9790 comes the BlackBerry Curve 9380.  This is the first all touchscreen Curve series as all previous models were pretty basic and never had touchscreen at all.  It’s still an entry level device, but you get a whole lot under the hood including 800MHz, NFC, 5MP camera and more!  Hit the jump for more stock images of the device.

Still official pricing, availability, or even an announcement from Research In Motion on this one just yet.  For now we get to see the BlackBerry Curve 9380 make its appearance on a Telus flyer.  So at least we know a carrier it’s headed to which is over in Canada.  As a quick recap on specs, the Curve 9380 is the first all touchscreen Curve sporting a 3.2 inch display as 480 x 360.  Inside is a 800MHz processor, a 5MP camera on the back with 720p HD video recording.  It of course isn’t the top notch BlackBerry to get, but it’s definitely an excellent starter device which should be offered at a low premium.

9380-9790 app world portal

So far we’ve only seen leaked screenshots of both the BlackBerry Curve 9380 and the BlackBerry Bold 9790.  The Curve 9380 is an all touchscreen device smaller than the Torch 9850/9860 and of course a smaller screen resolution.  To me it looks more like the Torch 9800/9810 minus the slide out keyboard, a lot thinner, then a backside like the Curve.  The Bold 9790 is based on the Bold 9700/9780 form factor, but gets touchscreen along with a full QWERTY keyboard.

We’ve seen both the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380, but now we see them photoed together.  Seeing them side by side, it’s quite obvious that the size is similar.  The Bold is running OS 7.0.0.344, where the Curve doesn’t show its running operating system.  More images below for those still checking the device out or haven’t yet.

Thanks Arnold for the tip!

Earlier today BGR put out another BlackBerry leak, this time for the BlackBerry Curve 9380.  For those who don’t recall, the Curve 9380 is an all touchscreen Curve, something we haven’t seen before in this family.  In the photos we see it side by side with the Torch 9850/9860 so you can see the comparison in size.  It looks to be taking the same JM-1 battery as seen in the Bold 9900/9930, Torch 9850/9860, and unreleased Bold 9790.  It’s nice to see uniform standard batteries across the board, leaving Torch 9810 out of course since it’s identical to last year’s original Torch 9800.  Any way, more images of the new Curve after the jump!

The BlackBerry Curve 9380 left us on a bit of a mystery last week when we saw its first real images leaked out.  The Curve 9380 is the first all touchscreen Curve, more of an entry device with a step under the Torch 9850/9860.  Luckily MacBerry has already been able to review it already so we got a closer look of the device in some nice quality images, some alongside with the Torch 9850/9860 and a video clip showing off some features.
