Various insider tips including ones from BBOS and CB have confirmed that October 28th is the day for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 to make its launch for Verizon.  Continue reading to check out the image we got of the Verizon blog stating a 10/28/09 launch.  The BlackBerry Storm 2 is a new and improved refined version of the original BlackBerry Storm which disappointed many with its laggy and buggy operating system.  The Storm 2 offers even newer and advanced touch screen technology along with an operating system more responsive than ever.  The memory has been increased to enable users to have more virtual memory as well as download more applications.  Apple iPhone owners have endless amounts of memory to download applications, and this is where the BlackBerry Storm is trying to pick up in enabling its owners to have a wide variety of them as well.

Given that the original BlackBerry Storm 9500 & 9530 was a miserable disaster for many, the Storm 2 will of course have a hard time making it up top, especially when it carries the same name.  So what were the huge issues faced in the original Storm?  Just as a quick recap, we can all remember the excessive freezes with the device which always lead to a hard battery pull and caused people many dilemmas such as not receiving phone calls because the Storm was “hourglassing” in their holsters or pockets without usage even.  We came across a list of five ways that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is better from PCWorld which could come very useful to all of you, especially if you’re feeling shaky about the new device.

In this video, you’ll get a brief look at the BlackBerry Storm2 9550 for Verizon Wireless.   The nice features you’ll notice is the user friendly typing and the fact that multiple fingers can be used at the same time on the screen very easily.  It’s a short clip that takes you through the general specifics of the device.

It’s been an exciting morning with all the BlackBerry Storm2 news releasing, especially that RIM has officially announced it on their site.  Such events call for the device to officially launch from the carriers as we have already suspected that before RIM did their introduction to the BlackBerry Storm2.  So here we have a diagram as to all the whereabouts of buttons and shortcut keys are located.  An interesting new concept we saw here was that the Power button has been shifted up to the Lock button which can cause some confusion at first but shouldn’t be any real big issue..  By looking at it, we can assume that a soft, one click press of the button will lock the device and a longer extended press will shut the device off.  The Mute button is opposite to it staying up top as well, being the most convenient tool when on the phone.

The other day we pointed out BlackBerry.com and how they were currently pushing out their new motto and Storm picture with the U2 band on the screen.  We suggested that the BlackBerry Storm 2 would be coming to the official site within the next few days, and two days later we see it happen.  Above you can see the sexy stock image RIM has put out for the device.  On BlackBerry.com you can find all the official specs and features of Storm2, which is going to be the officially traded name of it as it shows.

More marketing material is starting to release for the BlackBerry Storm 2 as they prepare for the big launch which will either make it or break it, given the reputation of the first generation Storm.  Here’s a Verizon Wireless poster where the BlackBerry Storm 2 makes itself look quite fashionable and savvy right next to the Tour 9630 which will be your main alternative when choosing a BlackBerry with the carrier.  In this next image, you’ll see that it says “BLKBN40X281009″ which from what it looks like could mean a date perhaps?  A release date maybe?  If that information is true, then that code’s date would be 10/28/09.  Maybe this isn’t the release date, but more or the date that the flyers can be posted up in Verizon retail locations.  Continue reading to check out the image.

The folks over at BerryScoop got the opportunity to obtain a recording of the BlackBerry Storm 2 training video for Verizon Wireless.  As it is a leaked video, don’t expect HD or the luxury of being able to see everything on the screen clearly at all.  You’ll have a rough idea of what marketing techniques Verizon will be putting out for this device which will be highly necessary due to the downfall and disappointments faced with the original Storm 9530.  The folks over at BGR were able to obtain this flyer as well marketing the BlackBerry Storm 2 which has all sorts of interesting information on it.  Continue reading to check it out.

I guess we don’t need any more confirmation as it says it without any misunderstanding that the BlackBerry Curve 2 (8530) will be releasing late November this year.  The 85xx series is a basic Curve model giving BlackBerry users a trackpad instead of a native trackball.  Verizon will be the second US carrier to receive the device.  As we heard last week, the device will be coming in black and lavender.  Read more to see the Storm 2 confirmations.
