So Verizon has halted all BlackBerry 6 testing on the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550. There’s a few different possibilities here as to why this has happened. One which is the most obvious is the lack of memory the Storm 2 has. When I say “lack,” I mean not enough to support BlackBerry 6 (OS 6). If this is true, supported devices for OS 6 does not seem to be what we thought it would. Surely there’s many Storm 2 users out there, but there are a lot more Bold 9700 users. Seeing things like this as a 9700 owner makes you bite your nails a bit when wondering if OS 6 will support it or not.

According to this advertisement that Kyle from BlackBerry Cool came across, the BlackBerry Storm2 is making its way to Rogers Canada. Or maybe not. As Kyle suggests, the advertisement agency might have gotten lazy and replaced the word “Verizon” with “Rogers” instead, causing all sorts of misunderstandings now. Let’s hope this is for Rogers, but why so late? Yes T-Mobile UK is getting the Storm2, but you would think Rogers was always on top of their game with all their other early device releases.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is one of the most unique BlackBerry devices that just intrigues me. The touch screen is ten times better than its older 9500/9530 and the overall device’s design and material are both sleek and sturdy. I don’t know about all of you, but I do want to see what its guts look like. In this video above, you’ll see the BlackBerry Storm 2 disassembled to the core seeing every bit and piece of it. With this video, you’ll get a better idea on how the sensors work which lay right under the screen also. So whether you’re browsing our site through your BlackBerry or PC/Mac, take a six minute and sixteen second break to watch this clip.

As we had analyzed in the teaser video from Salomondrin earlier last week, the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 and Storm 2 9550/9520 share the same back. If you closely, the camera placement is exactly the same with the flash on the right and camera lens on the left. The back cover itself is exactly the same on both devices, with even the same functionality in opening. The chrome bezel that goes around exists in both of these Berries. So what’s RIM up to? Disregarding the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for a second, it looks like RIM is making their devices more uniform so that next time you see someone typing away on a QWERTY device or making a phone call, you’ll know it’s a BlackBerry immediately by its design. We’re not completely disregarding the Bold 9700 only because it does have the same chrome bezel design that wraps around the back and sides.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 has made its way to Telus. To take all the confusion away, this device is a CDMA, and not GSM like the BlackBerry Bold 9700 being offered. As for pricing, you can grab one with no contract for $599.99. For a one year you’ll save 50 bucks getting it at $549.99, $499.99 with a two year, and a nice $199.99 with a three year contract. Which will you commit to signing up with to get the Storm 2?

With the device only released for a day, a new OS has already been officially released. Surprised anyone? The BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 has been in testing for quite awhile but it’s good to see RIM is taking care of its issues in advanced rather than waiting til folks complain about them. Here is OS 5.0.0.320 for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 via Verizon Wireless.

Let’s all think outside the box right now and put ourselves in a regular consumer’s mind rather than the average BlackBerry addict that stays loyal to his or her devices. The original BlackBerry Storm 9530 was brought to Verizon Wireless exclusively as I am sure many former BlackBerry users gave it a shot, but also others who wanted the touch screen (perhaps iPhone) experience. Now we have the Droid by Motorola coming to Verizon Wireless, making it the first Android based device.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is appearing on BlackBerry OS updates on Verizon Wireless but it looks like there are no official updates released for the device. We didn’t expect to see anything come up as the device hasn’t make its walk down the red carpets of Verizon retail stores just yet. The time is coming soon as we count the last 24 hours before the launch of the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550.

Various insider tips including ones from BBOS and CB have confirmed that October 28th is the day for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 to make its launch for Verizon. Continue reading to check out the image we got of the Verizon blog stating a 10/28/09 launch. The BlackBerry Storm 2 is a new and improved refined version of the original BlackBerry Storm which disappointed many with its laggy and buggy operating system. The Storm 2 offers even newer and advanced touch screen technology along with an operating system more responsive than ever. The memory has been increased to enable users to have more virtual memory as well as download more applications. Apple iPhone owners have endless amounts of memory to download applications, and this is where the BlackBerry Storm is trying to pick up in enabling its owners to have a wide variety of them as well.
