The ‘Thank You Gift’ category in BlackBerry App World is no more- unless you’re in Singapore. If you have a BlackBerry Curve 9380 and Torch 9860 in Singapore, then you’re eligible for some free applications. Not exactly sure why these two devices are the only ones getting the free applications. Is there an issue with the firmware or devices that we are unaware of? Either way, here’s a list of those free apps you can grab for a limited time in the region:

Now all the major players have leaked and official builds of OS 7.1! Here’s OS 7.1.0.190 for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Torch 9860. We saw a hybrid build of OS 7.1 for the Torch 9810 in the past, but it wasn’t stable in anyway. Mobile hotspot worked at least. So these are leaked versions still but download and install at your own risk. On the Bold 9900, this same OS came to be really stable, performing better than other 7.0’s in my opinion. Give it a shot and let us know!

It looks like all three grades of the OtterBox editions are now available for the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and 9860. By now you know how the different editions work. The Defender is the ultimate case and most durable. The Commuter gives you something in between, while the Impact series gives you a heavy duty silicon cover adding very little bulk to the device. Just got your Torch? Definitely check out OtterBox for your best protection.

OS 7.0.0.440 is available for three devices from AT&T- the BlackBerry Torch 9810, Torch 9860, and Bold 9900. I’ve tried the Torch 9810 9860 OS so far, and it’s a lot more stable than what we’ve seen out of the box and I have definitely seen battery life increases here as well. Click the link below to grab a copy for any of the three.
UPDATE: Oops. We screwed up. Tip we received stated Torch 9810 was one of the ones updated but we’re to blame for not validating. Sorry folks!
