We just let you know that Microsoft and RIM both announced their partnership in bringing Bing Search and Maps to BlackBerry OS. Here’s a quick video to showing off how well it works on the BlackBerry Torch.

At BlackBerry World 2011 Keynote today, Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft announced their growing partnership with RIM. RIM and Microsoft announced Bing to become the default search and maps provider on BlackBerry. Some features that will be included is “venue locations” seeing business names on the maps. Bing search on home/lock screens so you can easily search for whatever you are looking for.Bing is bringing in all the services to complete your tasks. So if you are looking to find a restuaraunt you can find the location, phone number, etc, as well as make reservations.Bing is also bringing in “deals” from the area around you, which allows you to see what specials are around to save you money.

The wait isn’t over just yet, but RIM co-CEO just teased us about Angry Birds coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook. We’re wondering if this will be through Android Player, or created specifically for the PlayBook itself. We’re really excited to see Angry Birds come to life for BlackBerry, and hopefully smartphones someday too.

Yesterday RIM announced OS 1.0.3 for the BlackBerry PlayBook which included a bunch of new features including BBM, video chat and more. We gave you the overview of all the new updates included. You can download it today over the air right from your BlackBerry PlayBook. Some users, including myself have had download failures so you’ll have to try a few times to get it going.

As you all know, BlackBerry PlayBook OS v1.0.3 was officially announced this morning at BlackBerry World, and we were also told that the OS would be available as soon as tonight, rolling out to everyone by tomorrow. This morning RIM officially announce the official Facebook application for the BlackBerry PlayBook. We weren’t expecting it to launch so soon, but it went ahead and became available in a matter of hours. So if you currently have a PlayBook and want to get on some application action, head over to App World and grab it free.

Bad news for current BlackBerry users, OS 7 is not going to be supported on current or older BlackBerry smartphones. The news might seem to be a little obvious to some, but RIM came out and officially said it during some Q&A this morning after introducing the BlackBerry Bold 9900 series. The reasoning for the limitation seems to be obvious. RIM has taken a big jump in hardware, and it looks like OS 7 is demanding in power, requiring a faster processor and “liquid graphics” as they had mentioned.
