We’ve already been playing the beta for a couple weeks now and now it looks like the final release is launching.  We got the word from Magmic Games that Texas Hold’em King LIVE v1.0 is officially launching on November 8th.  So what does that mean to you? All bankrolls, achievements, and player stats will be reset.  New features in v1.0 include:

  • Buy Chips Store – Our “Buy Chips” store is finally enabled! Purchase chips to stay in the action, or to move up the ranks!
  • Bug Fixes, UI Tweaks and Slick Animations – We’ve squashed quite a few number of bugs, added some new animations and tweaked our UI to make it even easier to use.
  • Pretzil Integration – You can now login to Pretzil via the Profile page. Then you can select the Pretzil Avatar and it will automatically download your Pretzil.com Avatar! Earn Pretzil Points for playing THK Live!
  • Help / In-Game FAQ – We’ve added a short in-game FAQ with a link to our Technical Support should you have an issue, check here first.
  • Tournaments – Are coming soon! Check out our tournaments which are coming this year!

Stay tuned this Monday for Texas Hold’em King LIVE to officially get out of beta into version 1.0.  If you haven’t tried the game yet, you can pick it up for free at App World.  If you already downloaded it, you should be prompted this Monday to update to the next version.

More online gaming comes our way! We got word from Magmic Games that Texas Hold’em King LIVE Beta is at the BlackBerry App World for free as an open public beta.  The big deal here is that you can play online against other players.  That’s awesome.  Currently I indulge in WordRival which is similar to Words with Friends and Scrabble where I get to play online against real people.  That’s the next best thing for BlackBerry – online gaming against real people.  So we’re happy to see developers and game creators reaching out to what people like.

Included in the app is Pretzil support.  Back at DEVCON this year we let you know about Pretzil and actually had the opportunity to talk to the developers on what their API does and how it is integrated in quite a few famous BlackBerry game titles.

Texas Hold’em King LIVE is free at the BlackBerry App World right now since it’s in open beta.  Give it a download and see how you like it.
