Another surprise leaked OS has surfaced once again for an unreleased BlackBerry device. This one goes out to the BlackBerry Touch 9860 – oh wait, 9850 which isn’t a model number we’ve been so acquainted with lately. Any way it gets the same fix as the BlackBerry Bold 9930 at OS 7.0.0.115. With that said, it’s clear that this is the CDMA version of the BlackBerry Touch. Two download links below!

That’s what the latest rumor says. We know RIM made mention of the BlackBerry Touch Monza at a T-Mobile employee event a little while back, then kept things pretty much on the down low after that. The latest rumor from Tmonews talks about the Monza launching for T-Mobile on June 29th. Assuming this is true, we expect to see T-Mobile put out an announcement next week at BlackBerry World.

Some of you are saying “who cares” but I think it’s convenient. At the moment I hate having only four icons across on the Torch 9800. I didn’t really pay much attention to this before, assuming it would be like the Torch, but the BlackBerry Touch 9860 gets six icons across rather than just four when in landscape mode. In portrait mode, it’s four just as it is on the Torch. We’re used to having four whichever way you hold your BlackBerry up, but it’s switching up in the Touch 9860.

Lastly is the BlackBerry Touch 9860 which also gets a promo commercial. We don’t see much of the device here, but there are lots of animations that are trying to push features the BlackBerry has. So far the Touch 9860 seems very promising with the leaked clips we’ve seen, almost no lag!

Another hands on video has surfaced for the BlackBerry Touch 9860 aka Monaco/Monza. Once again it’s a brief walkthrough some applications and pretty much shows off how fast the device really is.
Thanks for the tip James!

This time around we get a better idea of the BlackBerry Touch. We saw a leaked video once before, but it only showed the physical dimensions of the device, and not so much the software functionality. Here we see that the phone does move pretty fast. We see a little bit of hour glassin’, but nothing to discourage us just yet. What do you think of the BlackBerry Touch? Will it finally be a good competitor against today’s touchscreen smartphones?

Yesterday in the comments for the leaked BlackBerry Touch Monaco/Monza photos, one of our readers posted up that three icons are blacked out from one the pictures. I went back to look and noticed it to be true, and seriously can’t believe we all missed it. Then I went back to the BGR post to see if anyone had posted any info about it in the comments, and all I could find was that there’s “stuff not ready to be public yet,” even though it was all leaked in itself.
What could it be? BBM video? Don’t think so. It would be interesting if RIM put up a front face camera on this bad boy out of nowhere last minute without any of us knowing til launch. What are your thoughts?

We saw the quick half a minute clip of the BlackBerry Monza/Monaco before, but it wasn’t that clear and was too much of a tease. BGR got some nice photos up of the device showing off the device and a glimpse at OS 6.1.
The Monza is supposedly the T-Mobile version as we heard at the “See BlackBerry Different” event by T-Mobile. The Monaco seems to be CDMA, targeted towards Verizon, and maybe even Sprint. More pictures after the jump!

The BlackBerry Storm 3 is a device that was quite confusing for about a year now since we never were able to keep up with RIM on seeing what exactly they had in mind to do with it. We even saw Storm 2 refreshes hit presentations but the idea seemed to get scrapped after a while. Then just recently, the picture got clearer and we started seeing the BlackBerry Monza which T-Mobile has stated to carry and Monaco which is the CDMA version. Now we see the BlackBerry 9850, which sports a higher screen resolution than what we’ve seen with the Torch 2, which leaves us assuming it is the Storm 3 Monza/Monaco. Here are the specs we spotted in the UAProf doc:
- 480×800 screen resolution
- OS 6.1
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- CDMA/EVDO
So it’s significantly higher in resolution and we see a confirmation of CDMA/EVDO in the bunch. The BlackBerry Storm 3 got a small video teaser recently which didn’t impress many, but we have to keep in mind that it’s still an unreleased device with hopefully an early release OS.
