It seems like a bad time for carriers to start picking up BlackBerry devices since RIM is going to be launching new devices soon. I guess you can’t really go wrong with devices like the BlackBerry Curve 3G which is a basic (starter edition in my opinion) device at an affordable low price. MTS has announced they are launching the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 on March 31st, and yes it will have BlackBerry 6 preloaded out of the box.

It’s been so long since the BlackBerry Style 9670 got any OS love. It barely gets leaks as is, but today MTS Mobility has released OS 6.0.0.415 for it. Hopefully some bug fixes are included in this version, so we’ll leave that up to you all to figure out and drop us a line if you do find anything.

Not a huge tip here, or info full of excitement, but MTS does carry BlackBerry smartphones, and two of RIM’s elite devices are hitting the carrier. It appears that they are showing both the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry Bold 9780 as coming soon devices.
So if you need your BlackBerry 6 fix from now and fiending for extended 512MB of memory, you can have the Torch slider which gives you full QWERTY with touchscreen, or the traditional Bold 9780 which is based on the Bold 9700 that’s small and compact, rocking decent specs under the hood but no touchscreen.

Just last week, MTS launched the BlackBerry Style 9670, and it looks like the device has entered as a holiday promotion item already. As the price was only 100 bucks to begin with, MTS is putting it out for free from now until the end of the month. Also, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is running at $29.99 and the Storm 2 at $99.99. This is a bit funny to see the older devices holding their prices higher than the hot and fresh Style which just launched for the carrier.

As promised on Twitter, MTS has officially launched the BlackBerry Style 9670 today. We weren’t sure of the pricing plans as they weren’t anywhere to be found days ago so this is how it goes:
- 36-month contract – $99.99
- 24-month contract – $199.99
- 12-month contract – $424.99
Canada sure loves its three year contracts. We’re not going to get into that, but you can cop the Style for only 100 bucks.
The BlackBerry Style 9670 comes with BlackBerry 6 OS , 512MB of memory, an 8GB micro SD card, and of course comes in flip clamshell style with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 360 x 400 display with a 240 x 320 display on the outside when closed.

According to a tweet that MTS put out earlier this afternoon, they will be launching the BlackBerry Style 9670 this Thursday officially. I’m surprised to see that so many carriers are actually picking this device up more or so because there was so much negative hype towards it from the very beginning of seeing a flip phone BlackBerry.
In any case, there’s no pricing available yet on the MTS website, but it is imaged there with a “coming soon” banner on it.

MTS, another carrier in Canada has announced in a flyer that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is coming soon. We’re happy to see that this device hasn’t been left in the dark as it has been for a few months with the Torch 9800 surfacing on AT&T, the Pearl 3G all over Europe and Canada, and the Curve 9300. The BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be compatible with BlackBerry 6, so even though the device has been out for awhile, it will remain in the game for some more. Pricing hasn’t been released yet but the flyer indicates it is coming soon so we wait.
