It looks like all three grades of the OtterBox editions are now available for the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and 9860.  By now you know how the different editions work.  The Defender is the ultimate case and most durable.  The Commuter gives you something in between, while the Impact series gives you a heavy duty silicon cover adding very little bulk to the device.  Just got your Torch? We just got word from OtterBox that their accessories are now officially under the “Built for BlackBerry” label.  For those who don’t recall, Built for BlackBerry falls under accessories made for BlackBerry smartphones and approved by RIM.  OtterBox has just been approved just as BlackBerry World is about to roll out.  Hit the jump for the full press release.

OtterBox let us know a few days ago about their famous casing coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook.  It’s no surprise as we’ve seen them cater well to BlackBerry smartphones, and they have entered the tablet market with the Apple iPad as well.  For now, we see the Defender series coming soon to the PlayBook, but we’ll be expecting to see a Commuter series as well in the near future.

The Defender is top of the line when it comes to OtterBox cases.  It carries the most protection with its three layer system and the heavy duty hard shell that goes on the very top.

The folks over at AccessorizeMobile got some nice images of the BlackBerry PlayBook OtterBox Defender case coming out when the tablet launches I’m assuming.  OtterBox makes a mean case for mobiles and tablets.  I’ve been using the OtterBox Defender on and off on my iPad and it works great giving your tablet maximum protection.  The PlayBook is small enough where it gives OtterBox more room to put more layers on it for maximum protection, but not over-doing it.  This is the Defender series according to the source.  I’m hoping they make a Commuter case as well.

Since the BlackBerry Style 9670 launched, I was wondering how its OtterBox would look on it.  I saw it in the past for the Pearl Flip 8200 series, and was pretty impressed by it.  OtterBox let us know that they have recently released the Commuter Series for the BlackBerry Style 9670 – how exciting!

The Style is a bit thick on its own, so adding some extra layer to it will make it bigger, so that’s something you need to consider.  The Commuter series is the middle grade series that OtterBox offers in between the high end Defender and lower and Impact.  It goes for $34.95 right from the OtterBox website.
