Up until now, Telus falls under the whole “coming soon” for its new BlackBerry devices with no official release dates to the public.  Sound a lot like the United States carriers.  What’s nice about this leak is that it shows the BlackBerry Torch 9810 in both grey and white colors.  It’s always great to see a device come in multiple flavor from launch date.  Pricing for the Torch 9810 from Telus is $129.99 on a 3 year (when monthly bill is $50 or more), then $329.99 for the regular 3 year, $499.99 for the 2 year, $549.99 for the 1 year, and finally $599.99 with no strings attached.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 pricing is $149.99 on a 3 year plan (when monthly bill is $50 or more), then $349.99 for the regular 3 year contract, $529.99 on a 2 year contract, $579.99 on a 1 year contract, then $629.99 for the device out of pocket with no contract.  Screenshot of Bold pricing after the jump!

The Telus roadmap is showing one too many BlackBerry devices launching as soon as August 15th.  The last rumor we heard was that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 was launching for T-Mobile on August 31st.  It didn’t seem like we’d see any launch dates earlier than that, but the Telus leaked roadmap seems to say otherwise.  Here’s what’s lined up.

The sale is exclusively online, so make sure you don’t walk into any of the stores demanding a free device.  Telus put out a 72 hour sale which includes several smartphones up for great deals on 1 year contracts.  These devices aren’t nearly new, but semi up to date.  The BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 are being offered free on 1 year contracts.  Click the link below to check them out.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is being offered at many different retail channels and carriers.  Telus is differentiating itself from others by offering a free 45 minute session with a BlackBerry PlayBook “pro specialist” when you purchase the PlayBook from them.  Here’s the official note from Telus:

TELUS is committed to helping Canadians navigate their new smartphone and tablet purchases, including the BlackBerry PlayBook. The TELUS Learning Centre is a complimentary learning service designed to provide a unique in-store and online experience for all clients. With an easy and convenient web-based scheduling tool, TELUS clients can book a “how-to” session at 200 TELUS locations across Canada. TELUS’ Playbook Pro specialists in our stores will also show TELUS customers, in a 45-minute one-on-one session, how to get the most out of their BlackBerry PlayBook and other TELUS devices from trained experts.

So does this make you want to get a PlayBook from Telus due to the free session?  Do you need a session? Let us know in the comments!

The BlackBerry PlayBook is coming soon, for real this time.  Carriers have both confirmed and rumored about taking on the PlayBook, and over the last few months we’ve been seeing the confirmations.  It looks like Telus is now confirmed to carry the PlayBook as they are inviting SMG customers to an event on March 22nd.  The subject line for the event read “Telus BlackBerry event for PlayBook.”

That’s it as far as details go.  No dates or pricing at all, so let’s wait and see what happens after the event.

If there’s anything I’ve noticed, it’s that smartphones in Canada are really pricey on one year term contracts, and no contract prices for them are just expensive everywhere.  Usually you have to go for the 3 year to get a good price, comparable to what we have in the United States.  Telus has put up the BlackBerry Pearl 3G for only $200 flat out with no contract.  So if you’re in need of a new BlackBerry and don’t mind some Pearl action with SureType, this is definitely a good buy where you won’t have to commit to any strings attached contracts.

Thanks Brit for the tip!
