Another T-Mobile BlackBerry disappointment has surfaced. First we had the BlackBerry Bold 9900 which shipped out lacking UMA features. We’re told the UMA feature will be coming later on in an OS update. Now the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is about to launch for T-Mobile. It looks like this device won’t be getting UMA out of the box either according to a T-Mobile tweet spotted by N4BB. One of the greatest features for T-Mobile is UMA, and it’s a shame seeing it vacant from newer BlackBerry device. Does this drive you away from getting it?

It’s real and it’s happening! For a few weeks now we’ve been teased that a Blackberry Torch 9810 would be headed over to T-Mobile. We still don’t know when, but with all the leaks we’ve been getting, it has to be soon! We got a few photos of a T-Mobile BlackBerry Torch 9810 arriving at a corporate store for display. There are no actual live units yet but it’s pretty exciting to see it on another carrier other than AT&T. As you guessed, it will run on T-Mobile’s 4G network and will support UMA. Sweet! More photos after the jump.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 was rumored to launch for T-Mobile which baffled us since we were under the assumption that AT&T had the device exclusively for a year. This is the second time we see a the Torch 9810 surface in a T-Mobile system, which can only mean that it is indeed headed to the carrier. Sadly there’s still no launch dates specified but we know it’s coming at least.

According to N4BB who heard a tip from a RIM NFC engineer, the company was asked by T-Mobile to specifically block out NFC capability via vendor ID. This means that no matter what OS you install on your T-Mobile 9900, you won’t get NFC to work.
Surely the service isn’t usable at the moment, but in time RIM and other app developers have plans to take advantage of the feature. Bothered or does it really not matter to you?

I feel like T-Mobile users are already spoiled enough with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 that the Torch 9810 doesn’t even matter. Of course that’s my own opinion and the carrier’s customers would speak better on the matter than anyone else. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 offers both touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard solution in a really slim body and wide as the Bold 9000 which was favored by many. The device sold out in less than 24 hours as well which only meant that the people wanted it. Now there’s rumors that the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is headed to T-Mobile, and we’re just curious to see if anyone cares for it. The Torch 9860 is allegedly on the way as well which offers a full touchscreen solution, giving you the “multimedia powerhouse” as RIM refers to it. Let us know your thoughts!

When going t0 T-Mobile.com, it still shows as “coming soon” for the merlot colored edition. I’m not sure if that will be removed off the site completely or maybe the color will come back soon enough. Anyone hurt by the tragic news?
