The BlackBerry Bold 9790 had its first launch in Indonesia, leaving the rest of the world hanging for a little bit until other carriers got the opportunity to pick it up and offer to its customers. Now we’re seeing Virgin Mobile Canada is up for picking up the Bold 9790. It’s a good sign since we can assume it will be branching off to other carriers as well. It would have been a shame to see the 9790 go through the same exclusive as the Torch 9800 did in the United States last year with AT&T. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 gets a 1GHz processor, 3G connectivity, NFC chip built-in, and a 5MP camera. It’s not the best under the hood but falls somewhere in the middle. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but MobileSyrup who got the leaked photo suggests it will be between $450 and $480.

Virgin Mobile is giving out the BlackBerry Curve 9360 for a very low price of $49 on a 3 year contract. It’s nice to see a BlackBerry Curve with not so low specs remain to get a low sticker price from launch date. If you want to buy the phone out right with no contract, it’s $349.99 which isn’t so bad either. Some of you have paid that price with contract I’m sure.
Virgin offers a BlackBerry 40 plan which is only $40 a month including 150 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7pm and unlimited Twitter, Facebook, and IM.

Nothing BlackBerry related here, but Jake S. sent in this funny commercial from Virgin Mobile. It pretty much makes fun of AT&T and T-Mobile merging, calling AT&T the worst customer service ever which doesn’t sound to off, does it? Virgin Mobile is exemplified as a party with lots of fun offering plans as low as $35 per month while AT&T and T-Mobile are in an all white room boring, and obviously higher priced plans.

The leaks for these new BlackBerry devices feels like spoon-feeding. We get small leaked details at a time, and never everything together it looks like. With Virgin Mobile, we saw Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 dummies arrive, but no launch date or pricing leaked. Now we see pricing leaked, and perhaps tomorrow we’ll get a launch date! Here’s how the pricing goes:
Virgin BlackBerry Bold 9900:
- No-contract price: $599.99
- 3-year contract/SuperTab: $169.99
Virgin BlackBerry Torch 9810:
- No-contract price: $599.99
- 3-year contract/SuperTab: $149.99

The BlackBerry PlayBook has been making its way into different markets, making itself available around the world. Carriers have picked up the tablet to sell in stores as well since it goes well with BlackBerry smartphones as a great companion and an overall tablet. Now Virgin Mobile is expected to launch the PlayBook as seen in this leaked screenshot showing what’s coming up.

- 300 minute plan at $25, will be $35
- 1200 minute plan at $40, will be $45
- Unlimited plan at $60, will be $55
So the plans are bumped up a little bit more, but if you’re a BlackBerry user, you don’t have to worry about paying the extra with the new pricing plan.

We have yet to see a carrier have the BlackBerry Bold 9900 on shelves, as T-Mobile has confirmed to carry it in August, and some other carriers have as well. Virgin Mobile Canada tweeted out yesterday that they will be carrying the Bold 9900 officially “super soon.” No word on Virgin Mobile in the US getting it, but Canada is good to go.
