We spotted the red BlackBerry Torch 9800 first from AT&T in a leaked image showing off what’s to come for the holiday season.  In a short period of time after that, AT&T rolled it out the Torch out in both red and white colors.  Then we saw Canadian carriers such as Rogers getting the Torch in other colors too.  Now we have confirmation that Bell and Virgin Mobile both have the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in red.  With no strings attached, you can have the red Blackberry Torch for $599.95, where on a 3-year you’ll dish out $179.95

Head over to Bell and Virgin Mobile to check out more on the red BlackBerry Torch 9800.

It says BlackBerry Bold 9780, but didn’t they use the wrong picture in the advertisement? I could be wrong, but that looks like a Bold 9650 to me.  In any case there’s already word that the Bold 9780 is headed to Virgin Mobile, this was just a misprint of the image.  We also see the BlackBerry Torch 9800, which already made its debut so we won’t get into that. Still no word from any big carriers in the United States on the 9780, so we sit and wait still.

At least we get launch date and prices.  The BlackBerry Bold 9780 will be launched on October 21st, at only $149.99

According to this leaked out advertisement, Virgin Mobile will be getting the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on October 21st which sooner than we realistically expected carriers to be providing it.  The going price is $149 with the SuperTab or contract where there isn’t a no strings attached price listed.  As a quick recap, the Bold 9780 is a refresh model of the Bold 9700 but has 512MB, a 5MP camera, and BlackBerry 6.

If you’re in Canada and looking to score a BlackBerry Torch 9800 from Telus, Bell, Rogers, or Virgin Mobile, you can preorder it at any Best Buy in Canada as they have announced it on their website today.  The price across the board is $199.99 on 3 year contracts, but there is no official words on it just yet.  It’s going to be a big launch date as the BlackBerry Torch is RIM’s latest, greatest, and unique smartphone and it’s coming out with four different carriers all on the same day.  It seems to be smart to preorder in that case with the big rush we’re expecting.  So AT&T sells 150,000 units opening weekend – how many should we expect over four carriers all at once?  You can’t preorder your Torch online so you’ll have to make an appearance and do it in person.

Right after the AT&T BlackBerry Torch 9800 launch event, Virgin Mobile Canada announced on Twitter that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is coming soon.  About an hour ago on Twitter they announced it’s coming officially on September 24th, joining the other Canadian carriers including Rogers and Telus.  I’m guessing these launch events coming this month in Canada will have multiple carriers involved with this huge launch.  No pricing models are up yet, nor is it available on their website but we will be sure that happen soon enough.

Virgin Mobile has posted on Twitter that they will be offering the BlackBerry Torch 9800 soon.  There are no dates yet but as you all know AT&T does have it exclusive in the US for now so this goes for the UK.  For all you current Virgin Mobile customers abroad, keep your head high as the “best BlackBerry ever” is headed your way!  Nothing is posted yet on their site, but keep your eyes open for more info and pricing.

Yesterday we let you know that Virgin Mobile was getting the BlackBerry Pearl 3G pretty soon with no word yet on their website just yet.  Today we popped our heads in only to see that their site has been updated and they have added the device, listing it as “coming soon.”  The pricing we gave yesterday was accurate as it is $49.99 with a 3 year contract, and $349.99 with a 30 day contract.

Next in line for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G seems to be Virgin Mobile.  We’re very shocked by the news, as we still haven’t had any word from AT&T yet, and aren’t expecting anything from T-Mobile as we got the word that they have rejected it.  Virgin Mobile will be putting out the device “soon” which doesn’t do much for us, but at least we have the pricing plans.  On a three year strings attached plan, it will be $49.99 while a 30-day contract will ring it up to $349.99.  There’s nothing on their website about it yet, but we did get the information from BGR which came from a source on the inside.  You can view some of the screenshots there, as it clearly shows that the 9100 SureType (condensed QWERTY) is the lucky chosen one for the carrier.

Prepaid never got you great deals and phones like they do today.  Traditionally, when going prepaid, you have to settle for something lower end of less quality and end up paying more money.  In this case, some nice up to date devices are getting added to Virgin Mobile.  On the line-up we have the BlackBerry Bold 9700 which recently launched for AT&T and T-Mobile.  Then there’s the BlackBerry Curve 8530 which Verizon Wireless and Sprint are rockin’ at the moment.  This above shows a screenshot of the Virgin Mobile site when the devices are available.  Yes, the iPhone will be carrying along there too.  Sorry for the small screenshot folks, but that’s all we have so far.  As you can see it is very visible that the Bold 9700 and the Curve 8530 are there.

The plans go as follows:

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700: 3-year/30-day contract is $599.99
  • BlackBerry Curve 8530: 3-year/30-day contract is $399.99

Of course these can be changed in the future as we get closer to the launch date.  Stay tuned for more as Virgin unveils the two BlackBerry devices.

Talk about a great deal! Virgin Mobile has just went ahead and dropped all its BlackBerry device prices.  The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 and BlackBerry Pearl 8130 have both dropped to $0.00 making it absolutely free with a 3 year contract plan.  The BlackBerry Curve 8330 has also went down in price as it is now only $29.99 with any 3 year plan.  Virgin Mobile offers quite a good plan for BlackBerry devices.  For only $50 CA, you can get 200 anytime minutes, 500mb of data, and unlimited night + weekend minutes.  Again all these plans are 3 year contracts and only for Canadians.
