Some things are just ahead of their time, like BlackBerry OS builds for devices that haven’t officially released yet.  Vodafone DE has officially launched OS 7.0.0.296, being the first official OS 7 build.  Last week we saw this build leaked for the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860.  I guess that’s the version carriers are going to take on.  Although we did see .303 leak out for the Bold 9900, it might be saved for once the devices actually launch or for other carriers.  Any way, if you have any reason to download OS 7.0.0.296 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900, you may do so officially from Vodafone DE.

Preorders for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 are now in place.  Vodafone UK has a page up for preorders currently.  According to our reader ecivon, devices are to be delivered as early as August 16th.  Do you think the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is going to be a hot enough item you have to preorder or will they collect some dust on shelves?  Click the link below to preorder today.

We know by now you’ve seen plenty of the big 3 which RIM all announced yesterday – the BlackBerry Torch 9810, Torch 9860 and Bold 9900.  Vodafone UK put up a quick promo video highlighting some key features of the BlackBerry Torch 9860, showing off some nice features including liquid graphics, a web browser promised to be 45% faster than BlackBerry 6 web browser, and more.

I feel that it’s real necessary to do the extended and extra promo for the Torch 9850/9860 only because the Storm wasn’t so great and it’s going to take a lot for folks to give into an all touchscreen BlackBerry once again.

With all the confusion after confusion on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 launching in August or not, dummy units have started arriving in Vodafone UK stores.  The Bold 9900 started off as “coming soon” on the Vodafone website and later put out a video demo of the device as well.  So back to the confusion, there’s no telling when the Bold 9900 is expected to launch but it’s looking good so far for Vodafone UK as they’ve received dummy devices at their retail locations already.

The most anticipated BlackBerry at the moment seems to be the BlackBerry Bold 9900 series.  The device comes in both a GSM and CDMA version, 9900 for GSM, and 9930 for CDMA.  We had the opportunity to check it out hands on at BlackBerry World this year, and even got word that T-Mobile is ready to launch it up in August.  Now Vodafone has put out a sneakpeak of the device, teasing us with the device and showing some of its attributes.

Carrier billing for BlackBerry App World was announced earlier last year, but not every carrier got to hop on it from the beginning.  Over time, carriers have slowly inherited the feature.  We got the word from @BlackBerryDev that carrier billing has been brought to three new carriers – T-Mobile, A1 Telekom, and Vodafone UK.  With that said, you can purchase applications, games, and themes from App World and just have the charges go to your cellular bill.

Thanks ecivon for the tip!

It’s no secret that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is getting a single core 1.2GHz processor and of course is impressive with those speeds as it is.  It would be nice if it were a dual core, but let’s not get so picky now as this single core 1.2GHz is a huge jump for RIM as is.  So Vodafone has their advertisement up for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 showing that it’s 1.2GHz dual core, when in reality it isn’t.  Typos like that might be throwing people off, so keep in mind that it is single core, but is a very rapid device.  Refer back to our video overview of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 from BlackBerry World 2011.

It was really nice to see T-Mobile announce the BlackBerry Bold 9900 coming soon but we really wanted to see it expanded to other carriers as well.  We just got the word that Vodafone UK is picking up the Bold 9900 with a “coming soon” launch date.
