Mac had posted this at an earlier time during WES as we just heard it, but then went back and put the post on hold until we received further details on the matter.  We obviously didn’t get much, but we’re a bit more educated now as to what is going on here.I spoke with one of my T-Mobile corporate friends and inquired about this BlackBerry Pearl 3G.  As Mac heard from T-Mobile during WES that the device was not coming to the carrier at all, I had to see if there was any more raw details on that.  From what I understood, T-Mobile does not seem to have an interest in carrying the device now at all as they have other plans in line.  That brings us back to what we did put out as a rumor around WES about a Curve 8500 series coming in 3G.  We know it’s not the 8910.  Could it be the 9300?  Mac heard and posted this same rumor, but there was no indication as to what the model number would be.  What was understood is that the “Curve 8520 will be coming in 3G.”  So what is to come of the Pearl 3G now? Things are looking dark for T-Mobile at the moment, but a lot brighter for AT&T now.  Things don’t look so great for a May launch of the Pearl in the US as of now, so we wait.

We finally found that the What Makes a Super App video is up on YouTube as we watched it firsthand during RIM’s live keynote.  The whole video seemed to praise RIM’s applications that they considered “super” ones just a little too much.  But in any case, if you are interested in knowing what makes a super app, feel free to watch this clip.

This one came out of the blue during the WES 2010 party (featuring will.i.am) as the CrackBerry team came out of nowhere with a camera and microphone asking me about what I thought about the all new BlackBerry 6 teaser we were shown earlier that morning along with the BlackBerry Pearl 3G.  Of course my opinionated self was ready vent out so I spoke out. Other bloggers were interviewed as well, showing what everyone has to say about them.  It’s an interesting yet comical video to watch.  It gave us all a chance to say how we felt more or so off the record, and not so much what the world (especially RIM) wants to hear.  Overall, definitely a job well done on this Bloggers Reaction video by CrackBerry.  Also, I never knew what that “red fading into black” Pearl 3G color was called, as Kevin told me it was Fusion Red, and later in the video I found that Ronen from BerryReview started that going.

Our first night here at WES, we stopped in by the OtterBox booth to see what they had coming up.  We knew all about the new Strength cases which 10% of the purchase price does get donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.  They come in pink and white as seen above.  For now it’s only coming in the Commuter series and we didn’t have a confirmation of the future availability for other devices.  Prices for these Strength Commuter cases are the same as others with the stock price of $34.95.  Hit the jump to check out the official video for the Strength Commuter Case along with the press release from OtterBox.

During our first day around the booths, we came across the Momentem booth and had to stop in to see what the app offered.  Personally I was amazed by the demonstration, especially the whole “tagging” feature.  So where does this app really kick in for you?  If you have bills, a job, or a responsibility in life of any kind, Momentem can help you.  You can tag calls right on your BlackBerry and log all your activities in actual real time.  Tagging is really simple as all you have to do is press the button to do it.  But that’s not all.  The app does generate you spreadsheets letting you know about everything going on that has to do with money recovering costs.

We’re live at the WES 2010 keynote and they have started it off with the Wireless Leadership Awards.  First award for Innovation in Public Sector goes out to the Baltimore Police Department with InterAct PocketCop and Xora.  For those unaware, PocketCop is a handy app for law enforcement to be able to check for warrants for arrest and more.  Pretty much if an officer is not his or her police car, the BlackBerry app expands them to being remotely productive.  Second place goes to the State of Florida Department of Children and Families and next finalist is Healthsouth.

Next award is for Innovation in the Private Sector.  First in line comes Lenel Systems International for Lenel Mobile Monitoring application for BlackBerry.  Next in line for Private Sector is PIKOLIN for Logisticsand Dispatching Solution.  The last finalist was RIDGID for the RIDGID 360 application.  A mention was made that RIDGID did save a lot of money (about $5,000) by developing their application in house.

For the next award, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust which saved over $700,000 with PaperIQ Digital Pen gets first place.  DELL and Xerox Corp were also finalist but Portsmouth Hospital NHS was the winner.

Yesterday while taking pictures at the BlackBerry booth of the new line of accessories, we realized something weird in the background.  It was this little wall charger piece and none of us noticed it at the time.  So we went back today to check it out and get a closer look at it.  Many of you have seen this style charger with the iPhone.  Whether you hate it or love it, the iPhone charger is convenient.  All it consists of is a little plug to put into the wall with a USB port to directly connect the wire which then goes into the iPhone.  RIM is doing the same thing here.
