It was unfortunate RIM didn’t have any bids on a Super Bowl commercial this year, and we were kind of expecting that, but on the brighter side, will.i.am does use a BlackBerry in one of his commercials around halftime for chatter.com.  The BlackBerry Storm makes its appearance, but of course the BlackBerry logo and button are missing for legal reasons, but you do know it’s a Storm.  Hit the jump for the video.

A few months ago, I went to a Black Eyed Peas concert, where will.i.am’s BBM pin was passed around.  You could BBM him during the end of the show where he would freestyle BBMs sent to him.  On a large screen, all the BBMs sent to him are displayed for the crowd to see as well.  I finally was able to find a video where he does the freestyle – but at another concert other than the one I attended.

It’s no secret that will.i.am is fond of BlackBerry smartphones.  Just the other day we saw him rockin’ the all new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet in the music video for “The Time.”

It’s not even a quick flash of the BlackBerry PlayBook.  In this video we see will.i.am take it out a few times and look at the screen for long periods of time.  It’s definitely the PlayBook as we’re all familiar with its dimensions, and the first time he whips it out, we see the BlackBerry logo right on the back of it.  So will.i.am has a PlayBook in hand – damn.  Hit the jump to watch the full video.

I had a funny email over the weekend asking me what the sample video was on the BlackBerry Torch 9800.  Interesting enough to say, I didn’t know what the sample video was so I looked into it. Gladly I also located it on YouTube so no ripping was involved.  This is an awesome video of will.i.am in concert chantin out “I love what I do” and takes his BlackBerry out asking everyone in the crowd to do so as well.  I find this to be one of RIM’s best sample videos as it hits home well BlackBerry users and isn’t just another condensed music video.

Last night was a Black Eyed Peas concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ where I have attended my fair share of hockey games.  Outside the stadium, employees (I’m not sure from RIM or for the Black Eyed Peas) were handing out these cards as seen above with will.i.am’s PIN on it.  Talk about a BBM stress test.  I’m sure he very much bricked that BlackBerry after the night was over, but messages seem to still be going through to the device.  The message on the card reads “BBM will.i.am and he might freestyle a few choice messages during tonight’s show!”  So I guess this is a good opportunity to get your shoutout through the band.
